150 Go Canterbury Scholarship in New Zealand - 2019/2020

The main purpose of this educational award is to support students from Auckland and Wellington in their first year of study at the University of Canterbury.Total 150 awards will be granted and each has a value of $5,000 and priority consideration for a place at University Hall.

Known as New Zealand’s second-oldest university, the University of Canterbury was established in 1873. In 1961 the university became an independent university and began moving out of its original neo-gothic buildings, which were re-purposed as the Christchurch Arts Centre.

The Scholarships are one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world. The aim of the program is to create a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.

SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS ELIGIBILITY

Scholars are selected on the following criteria:

  • Students from Auckland and Wellington are eligible.
  • Available for pursuing any degree level program at the university.
  • In the year of application (or, in the case of gap year applicants,2
  • in the previous year,) a candidate must be either attending an Auckland or Wellington school or living in the Auckland or Wellington region.
  • At the time of application, gained NCEA Level 2 with Merit or Excellence endorsement (or equivalent).
  • Excellence in the English language is a must to study at the university.

SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • The candidates must have to take admission in any degree level course at the university. After that, they can complete the online application process for the grant.

Application must include:

  • Only applications that have been submitted (with the International Office and registered on the website of the scholarship) before August 15, 2019 will be considered.
