Kwame Nkrumah University, KNUST BSc. And Diploma Top-Up Program Admission Form - 2024/2025 Intake

The Kwame Nkrumah University, KNUST is inviting applications from qualified applicants for admission into the Nursing, Midwifery, Emergency Nursing and Community Health Nursing Programme for the 2024 Academic Year.

The University of Ghana Medical School also UGMS is the medical school of Ghana’s first public research institution, the University of Ghana. It is currently located at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. The medical school was first planned in 1919 but took its first students in 1962.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified SCHOOL LEAVERS, NON-SCHOOL LEAVERS, and SPECIAL CASES.

SANDWICH SESSIONS

  • BSc. Community Health Nursing
DIPLOMA TOP-UP PROGRAMMES (SANDWICH)
  • Diploma in General Nursing
  • Diploma in Midwifery
  • Diploma in Community Health Nursing
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 
  1. BSc. Programmes
  • Emergency Nursing
  • General Nursing

Holders of Diploma in Nursing with a good pass and have at least TWO (2) years working experience.

  • BSc. Midwifery

Holders of Diploma in Midwifery with a good pass and have at least TWO (2) years working experience.

  • BSc. Community Health Nursing

Holders of Diploma in Community Health Nursing with a good pass and have at least TWO (2) years working experience

NB: Applicants with a Diploma certificate obtained through the KNUST-MoH programme may apply for the BSc programmes in their specialities.

  1. DIPLOMA TOP-UP PROGRAMMES (SANDWICH)

Applicants who meet the University’s minimum requirement of six (6) credits including English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science with a minimum of three (3) years working experience.

OR

Applicants must obtain a pass in the Institute of Distance Learning (IDL), KNUST Access Programme, and have a minimum of three (3) years working experience.

In addition to these, applicants must satisfy the following specific requirement in the various Programmes as follows;

DIPLOMA IN GENERAL NURSING
  • MUST be a Health Assistant Clinical (HAC) certificate holder registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana with a valid PIN.

DIPLOMA IN COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING
  • MUST be a Community Health Nurse (CHN) certificate holder registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana with a valid PIN.
MIDWIFERY 
  • MUST be a Post EN/CHN/HAC Midwifery Certificate holder
  • MUST be a straight Midwifery Certificate holder registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana with a valid PIN.

KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY BSC. AND DIPLOMA TOP-UP PROGRAM ADMISSION APPLICATION GUIDELINES

  • Applicants must purchase an e-Voucher by paying an application fee at the Ghana Post Company Ltd.
  • Upon payment of the application fee, candidates will receive an e-Voucher containing an application number and PIN that will grant access to the online admissions portal.
  • Candidates should then proceed to online admissions website at apps.knust.edu.gh/admissions and begin the application process.
  • Once the process has been completed, candidates must print out TWO (2) COPIES of the completed application form from the portal and submit them to the Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, KNUST together with all relevant documents (Photocopies of Certificates and transcripts)

Application fee: GH¢ 220.00

  1. Please Puni is my name.I had certificate as preventive nurse(NAP),I will like to read bsc community health nursing (sandwich).please what do I do?

  2. According to NMC , the RCN has been changed to Registered Public Health nursing to be in line with the Bsc public health. I want to know the Bsc community health nursing will be standing alone or part of Bsc Public Health nursing?
