The programme aims to attract talented students from around the world, creating a vibrant and diverse atmosphere.

The Vienna BioCenter is a leading life science location in Europe: a thriving campus that combines basic research institutes, universities and biotech companies.  Four research institutes collaborate in creating an exceptional training environment, where students and junior researchers have all the necessary resources to conduct meaningful projects: there is virtually no experiment that cannot be done at the VBC.

The Scholarships are one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world. The aim of the program is to create a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.

SUMMER UNDERGRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS ELIGIBILITY

Scholars are selected on the following criteria:

We encourage applications from students (BA, Master, MSc) from all around the world who are undergraduates/master students, and have completed at least two years of university study

To apply you need to have the following:

  • Completed at least 2 years of a University study (e.g. 2/3 years of a Bachelor study or at least 1 year of a Master study – by 30 June)
  • Some previous research experience
  • Good academic record
  • High level of English language
  • Evidence of enrollment in a University programme for the current academic year and the next year (if possible)

English Language Requirements: The candidate should have a very good command of English language. Therefore, the application should be written in English.

SUMMER UNDERGRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • At the time of application letters of reference are not required.  We may contact the supervisor(s) of shortlisted candidates.
  • All uploaded documents that are not in English or German should have a translation attached.  The translation can be done by the applicant.
  • The mode of applying this scholarship is online.
  • Only applications that have been submitted (with the International Office and registered on the website of the scholarship) before January 31, 2019 will be considered for the scholarship.
