Application for the Elaine Geering English Literature Scholarship for Undergraduate Students in New Zealand – 2020/2021. Entry is now open at the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.Angelo South Pacific Scholarship in Law For Postgraduate In New Zealand - 2019/2020This Scholarship has been established by Lloyd Geering in memory of his wife Elaine Geering. Elaine, who was undertaking a PhD in English Literature at Victoria up until the time of her death in 2001, was particularly interested in Old English and Medieval Literature. The value of the support will be approximately $1,000.

Students who have completed their undergraduate studies at Victoria University and are enrolled in postgraduate study of Medieval, Old English, or New Zealand literature at an approved overseas institution.

The Scholarships are one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world. The aim of the program is to create a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.

ELAINE GEERING SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

Scholars are selected on the following criteria:

  •  Students of New Zealand can apply for this English Literature scholarship.
  • Students undertaking Honours, Masters or PhD studies in Medieval, Old English, or New Zealand literature at Victoria University, including students transferring from other universities; or
  • Students who have completed their undergraduate studies at Victoria University and are enrolled in postgraduate study of Medieval, Old English, or New Zealand literature at an approved overseas institution.

Application must include:

  • Applicants should submit a prescribed ‘Application Form’ with their academic transcript. ‘Application Forms’ can be obtained from, and submitted to The grants Office.
  • Only applications that have been submitted (with the International Office and registered on the website of the scholarship) before May 15, 2020  will be considered.
