These are available for eligible students studying on International Foundation Programme (IFP). This one-year program is designed to give you the academic and English language skills you need to begin a variety of degrees with us.

Cardiff University is a public research university in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. Founded in 1883 as the University College of South Wales and Monmouthshire, it became one of the founding colleges of the University of Wales in 1893, and in 1997 received (but held in abeyance) its own degree-awarding powers.

Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.


The Scholarships are one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world. The aim of the program is to create a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.


Scholars are selected on the following criteria:

  • You must meet or exceed the requirements as stated exactly in your formal offer.
  • You must confirm Cardiff University as your firm choice and meet all offer conditions, including any English Language conditions, by 31 July 2019.
  • These are available to study at their International Foundation Programme.
  • These are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.
  • Applicants who do not meet the requirements of their formal offer will not be eligible for the study, even if they are accepted into the University.
  • No separate application for the study is required. If you are holding an offer for an eligible program and meet or exceed the criteria as set out in these terms and conditions, you will automatically be awarded the upon enrolment.
  • Students must have accepted an offer of a place on the IFP before applying for these educations.
  • If you are an overseas applicant and your first language is not English, then you must have a proven level of English to study on our courses.


  •  To participate, the applicants need to accept yours through their online application system.

Application must include:

  •  A Transcripts of school result so far, including subjects studied and grades achieved, One academic reference, A copy of the photograph page of your passport which must include your passport number and full name, Evidence of English language test results.
  • Only applications that have been submitted (with the International Office and registered on the website of the scholarship) before 31st July 2019 will be considered for the scholarship.
