Application for the International Postdoctoral Scholarships in Real-Time Embedded Systems in Sweden – 2022/2023. Entry is now open at the Umea University in Sweden.



The scholarship is full-time for two years available to both domestic and international applicants who are commencing a postdoctoral program at the university. The grant will support full-time research activity and is limited to two years.

Umeå University provides 150 study programmes and 1,800 courses. More than 40 programmes and 450 courses are offered with instruction language entirely in English. There are a wide range of courses, workshops and seminars for professional development in higher education they can give you an opportunity to continuously develop your pedagogical skills.

The Scholarships are one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world. The aim of the program is to create a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.



Scholars are selected on the following criteria:

  • All nationalities.
  • Postdoctoral scholarship within the project Real-Time Embedded Systems (RTES).
  • Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree. This qualification requirements must be fulfilled no later than at the time of the decision about the scholarship recipient.
  • For taking admission, seekers are needed to hold their bachelor and master’s degree certificates with good academic grades in the relevant subject area.
  • If English isn’t your first language we have a range of courses to help you improve your English language skills.


  • To take part in this educational program, seekers are advised to be registered as a postdoctoral degree student before the application deadline. After being accepted, claimants can send their award applications with reference number 2.1.7-1192-22, both in the file name and in the subject field of the email, to [email protected].

Application must include:

  • Must attach the cover letter in which you describe previous research experience, max 2 pages
  • Curriculum vitae (CV) with publication list,
  • Verified copy of doctoral degree certificate or documentation that clarifies when the degree of doctor is expected to be obtained,
  • Verified copies of other diplomas, list of completed academic courses and grades,
  • Copy of doctoral thesis and 5 relevant publications,
  • Other documents that the applicant wishes to claim
  • Only applications that have been submitted (with the International Office and registered on the website of the scholarship) before 12 August, 2022  will be considered.
