International Scholarship in USA 2023

This article contains information on the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) 2022 allowance updates for Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) students. It contains the schedule, categories of people to receive the allowances and the method of payment.

We have noted the appeals from student leaders regarding the release of the 2022 NSFAS allowances. NSFAS had advised the University that they would only pay the allowances from April 2022. We have taken into consideration the pressing needs of our students, as such the University has made the decision to release student allowances.

We are pleased to announce that the release of NSFAS allowances will commence from the week of 7 March 2022.

It is important to note that the National Student Funding Aid Scheme policy stipulates that all qualifying students must be given their allowances as per the eligibility criteria document.

Please take note of the following important information on allowances:

1. Living allowance

  • All students already confirmed for NSFAS funding and registered for legible courses will receive their allowances from the week of 7 March 2022.
  • An allowance of R15 000 per annum will be split into 10 months. This will make up a value of R1500 per month to be released on the first day of each month.
  • Once uploaded onto the system, students will receive a sms to update their banking details on the FUNDI system.
  • The living allowance amount will be transferred to the students’ individual bank accounts.

  • The form will be available on the TUT website (www .ac .za) and at Financial Aid Offices (FAO) across campuses, for completion by this group. Students may email the form back to the campus where they registered using the email addresses provided below.
  • An amount of R5200 for learning material is approved by NSFAS for the 2022 academic year.
