Applicants are invited for the posts of interns at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, DeKUT. The University is a public university located in Kenya.
In Support of tht Government’s youth initiative to develop a pool of young talent for the Kenyan labour market by giving young people exposure to the work place environment. Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, DeKUT seeks to recruit interns to the following positions for a period of (6) Months.

1. RESEARCH INTERN
Job Specifications
- Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Computer Science from DeKUT.
- The candidates must have a good understanding of undergraduate level calculus, linear algebra and probability with a minimum grade of B in the relevant course
- The candidates must have demonstrable computer programming experience in Python and C/C++. The candidate’s CV should include a link to an online repository containing coding samples (eg. GitHub)
- The candidates must have a keen interest in developing machine learning and internet of things (IoT) applications in areas such as health, agriculture and environmental
- Experience with electrical hardware design and electronic design automation software is
Responsibilities
Research Interns shall be expected to work for 40 hours per week on average. Specific duties are as follows;
- Investigate machine learning methods for various applications
- Design and fabricate IoT devices for data collection
- Develop data collection pipelines for IoT applications
- Produce technical reports on tasks performed
- Any other duty that may be assigned by an authorized officer.
