For admission into programmes of study at the Kaimosi Friends University College, KAFUCO for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for a successful admission.

KAIMOSI FRIENDS UNIVERSITY COLLEGE UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

Undergraduate Courses
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science 
A candidate must satisfy any of the following minimum requirements:
  1. KSCE Mean Grade of C+, with at least a C+ in Mathematics and Physics/Physical Science, OR
  2. KACE with at least 2 Principles passes in Mathematics and Physics and 1 subsidiary pass, OR Accredited Diploma in Computer Science /IT/ or related field with at least a credit pass from Commission for Higher Education accredited and validated institution.
  3. KNEC Diploma holders in Computer studies with at least a credit pass and a mean grade of C at KCSE.
Bachelor of Science in information Technology 
  • Be a holder of KCSE (or equivalent examination) certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+ and a minimum of C+ in both Mathematics and English

OR
  • Be a holder of KACE certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary pass at A-level, and a minimum of a principal pass in
    • Mathematics    OR
    • Physics with credit pass in mathematics at O-level OR
  • Accredited Diploma in Information Technology or related field with a credit pass.
Bachelor of Commerce 
  • Minimum aggregate  of C+ in KCSE and minimum of C+ in either Mathematic/Business Studies or English/Kiswahili Or
  • KACE certificate with minimum of two Principal passes and one Subsidiary pass, and a minimum of a credit pass in Mathematics at KCE Or
  • a Business diploma validated by CUE with a minimum of credit C.
  • Any other equivalence as determined by the KNEC .
  • A student who has undertaken an equivalent programme may be granted credit transfer on case basis.
Bachelor of disaster Management & International Diplomacy 
  • Minimum mean Grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE and at least grade C+ (plus) in English or KISWAHILI, Mathematics or
  • Biology or Chemistry or Physics, and in any of the following, (History, Georgraphy, CRE/IRE/HRE/SEE,  French, German, Arabic, Music, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Typing with Office Practice). Or, Diploma in relevant area of study.
Bachelor of Social Work 
  • Minimum mean Grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE with at least C+ (plus) in English  Or, 2 principal passes at A-level and 1 subsidiary  in relevant subjects Or, Diploma in areas of study (may be exempted in relevant units)
Bachelor of Criminology 
  • Minimum mean Grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE and at least a C+ (plus) in English, Or 2 principal passes at A-level and 1 subsidiary in relevant subjects. Or,
  • Diploma in a relevant area of study.
  • Diploma in a relevant area of study (may be exempted in relevant units)

Bachelor of Science (Information Technology) 
  • Minimum mean Grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE with C+ (plus) in Mathematics, in any science or any business related subject.  Or,
  • 2 principal passes at A-level, 1 of which must be in Mathematics or Science subject, Or, Any business related subject, Or,
  • Those with a Diploma in IT from MMUST or equivalent with a Credit or Distinction will be admitted into 2nd year of study. Or,
  • a relevant diploma recognized by the University Senate.
Bachelor of Education (French) 
  • Minimum Mean C+(plus) at KCSE and  at least the two teaching subjects chosen, Or 2 principal passes at A-level and 1 subsidiary in relevant subjects, Or
  • Diploma in Education (may be exempted in relevant units)
Bachelor of Education (ECDE) 
  • Minimum Mean C+(plus) at KCSE and  at least the two teaching subjects chosen, Or
  • 2 principal passes at A-level and 1 subsidiary in relevant subjects, Or
  • Diploma in Education (may be exempted in relevant units)
Bachelor of Education (Arts) 
  • Minimum Mean C+(plus) at KCSE and at least the two teaching subjects chosen, Or
  • 2 principal passes at A-level and 1 subsidiary in relevant subjects, Or
  • Diploma in Education (may be exempted in relevant units)
Certificate Courses
  • KCSE Mean Grade of D+ (plus) and above or its equivalent
Diploma Courses
  • KCSE Mean Grade of C- (minus) and above or its equivalent

Full-time, School-Based, Evening and Weekend 16. Master of Education (M.Ed) English Minimum Entry Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Education with upper 2nd ( English/Literature OR B.A ( with Education)
  • Bachelors Degree in Education in English/Literature, B.A with (with Education) with lower 2nd class honors of qualifications as above with two years relevant experience.
  • Must have at least B grade in English Language and Linguistic courses at undergraduate level.
Full-time, School-Based, Evening and Weekend 17. Master of Arts (M.A.) in Applied Linguistics Minimum Entry Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Education with upper 2nd class (English/Literature Or B.A (Language and Linguistics)
  • Must have at least a  B grade  in English Language and Linguistic courses at undergraduate level
