For admission into programs of study at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies, KSMS for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for successful admission.

Modular Programme Admission Requirements

Executive Certificate In Agricultural Finance

  • At least a 1st degree and working in the financial sector and related institutions
  • Nominated by participating institution

Executive Diploma In Agricultural Finance

  • At least a 1st degree and working in the financial sector and related institutions
  • KSMS Executive Certificate in Agricultural finance certificate
  • Nominated by participating institution

Executive Diploma In Investment Banking

  • At least a 1st degree and working in the financial sector and related institutions
  • Nominated by participating institution

Executive Diploma In Business Intelligence And Data Analytics

  • At least a 1st degree and working in the financial sector and related institutions
  • Strong mathematics and IT background
  • Nominated by participating institution

Diploma In Business Sciences (Business Information Technology)

  • KCSE Overall Mean Grade of C; Mathematics/Business Studies C and English C

Diploma In Business Sciences – (Organizational Development)

  • KCSE Overall Mean Grade of C; Mathematics/Business Studies C and English C

Diploma in Business Sciences – (Finance)

  • KCSE Overall Mean Grade of C; Mathematics/Business Studies C and English C

Diploma In Business Sciences (Banking And Financial Services)

  • KCSE Overall Mean Grade of C; Mathematics/Business Studies C and English C

Diploma In Business Sciences (Microfinance)

  • KCSE Overall Mean Grade of C; Mathematics/Business Studies C and English C

Diploma In Business Sciences (Islamic Financial Services)

  • KCSE Overall Mean Grade of C; Mathematics/Business Studies C and English C

Collaborative Postgraduate Admission Requirements

  • KSMS/Moi University
    • Masters Of Banking And Finance
      • A holder of a degree in Economics or Business related areas from a University recognized by Moi University Senate with at least a second class honours upper division or;
      • A holder of a degree in Economics or Business related areas from a University recognized by Moi University Senate with at least a second class lower division with two (2) years working experience or;
      • A holder of any discipline from a University recognized by Moi University Senate with at least second class lower with a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics or Business related areas validated by Moi University Senate.
    • Postgraduate Diploma In Financial Management
      • Be holders of a degree of Moi University preferably in Economics, Business Management or any other degree in any field, from a university recognized by Moi University Senate, or
      • Be holders of qualifications considered by Moi University Senate to be equivalent to a University degree.
    • KSMS/JKUAT
      • Masters Of Financial Economics (MFE)
        • Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours or its equivalent from an institution of higher learning recognised by the JKUAT Senate; or
        • Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree with Lower Second Class honours provided the candidate can show proven evidence of research ability and/or three (3) years relevant experience in a relevant field;
        • A holder of a degree in any discipline from a University  recognized by JKUAT Senate with at least second class lower with a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics or Business related areas validated by JKUAT Senate
      • Masters Of Economic Policy And Analysis (MEPA)
        • Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours or its equivalent from an institution of higher learning recognised by the JKUAT Senate; or
        • Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree with Lower Second Class honours provided the candidate can show proven evidence of research ability and/or three (3) years relevant experience in a relevant field;
        • A holder of a degree in any discipline from a University  recognized by JKUAT Senate with at least second class lower with a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics or Business related areas validated by JKUAT Senate
      • Masters Of Public Policy And Analysis (MPPA)
        • Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in any field with at least Upper Second Class Honours or its equivalent from an institution of higher learning recognized by the JKUAT Senate; or
        • Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in any other field with Lower Second Class honours provided the candidate can show proven evidence of research ability and/or three (3) years’ experience in a relevant field;
        • A holder of a degree in any discipline from a University  recognized by the Senate with at least second class lower with a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics or Business related areas validated by JKUAT Senate
      • Masters Of Finance (MF)
        • Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours or its equivalent from an institution of higher learning recognised by the JKUAT Senate; or
        • Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree with Lower Second Class honours provided the candidate can show proven evidence of research ability and/or three (3) years relevant experience in a relevant field;
        • A holder of a degree in any discipline from a University  recognized by JKUAT Senate with at least second class lower with a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics or Business related areas validated by JKUAT Senate
      • Postgraduate In Business Science (PgDBus)
        • Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in any field of at least a lower second class or its equivalent from an institution recognized by the JKUAT Senate; or
        • A holder of a pass degree in any field provided the candidate can show proven evidence of work-related experience in the relevant sector for a period of not less than 3 years.
