It also contains the Kenyatta University, KU registration process for New & Continuing Full time & Part-Time Students (IT & Energy Technology), Digital School Students & Continuing Students in the School of Engineering & Technology as well as the student online registration portal.
This article contains information on the Kenyatta University (KU) registration process and guidelines for the new and continuing students thereby preparing them for the semester of the 2022/2023 academic year.
The Kenyatta University (KU) has already commenced the 2022/2023 Academic year. Applicants who received a formal letter of offer to join the University this academic year 2022/2023 are required to complete the registration process online.
Registration is the process by which you formally enroll at the University, The online registration window for all new students is on
. All applicants are required to register during this period.
KENYATTA UNIVERSITY FIRST YEAR STUDENTS ONLINE REGISTRATION GUIDELINES AND PORTAL
- STEP 1: Go to the Kenyatta University (KU) registration portal through the link stated below.
- STEP 2: Once the login page for the registration portal has fully loaded, use your admission number (student number provided by Kenyatta University) to login.
NOTE: Kindly note that the login credentials (Admission number) are case sensitive. Key it in as provided by the university i.e. in upper case or capital. Insert your admission number as the student number, then click on the login button
- STEP 3: After successful login, click on the edit profile to update your records as shown below. Kindly update all the fields under
the following tabs, My Account, Academic, Contacts, Next of kin and attachments. Scan your documents and upload all the required documents. Click on the edit profile. This will allow you to update all required fields. Click on this link to change your password.
- STEP 4:
- ACTION ONE: Update the records under My Account
- ACTION TWO: Update the records under Academic
- ACTION THREE: Update the records under Contacts
- ACTION FOUR: Update the records under Next of Kin and then Click on ADD in order to add extra next of kin
- ACTION FIVE: Upload all the required documents
- ACTION SIX: CLICK ON SAVE CHANGES
- STEP 5: After updating and saving all the details, click on the admission registration tab as shown on the next page. CLICK ON SAVE CHANGES
- STEP 6: Click on register Click on the Admission Registration to register for the semester. Click on Register Successful admission registration
- STEP 7: Click on Finance Registration to register at finance. Kindly note that finance registration is based on 100% fee payment. Upon payment of fees, the student will be able to finance registration. The student will be able to view the fees structure for Finance Registration. After successful finance registration, click on the unit registration to register for this semester units. Click on Register to register with finance Click on Unit registration and then type the Unit code in the Search area provided.
N/B: Only book the units you are to take this semester. After booking all the required units this semester, click on the checkbox to confirm the units as shown below. This marks the completion of the registration process. Click on the checkbox to confirm the units.
Note: In case there’s a unit appearing on the screen that you are not doing this semester, kindly use the remove button to remove it.
This marks the end of the Registration process.

KENYATTA UNIVERSITY RETURNING/CONTINUING STUDENTS ONLINE REGISTRATION GUIDELINES AND PORTAL
- Navigate to KU student Portal.
- Click on the ‘Student Portal Homepage’ Link displayed
- On the students portal login page, enter your Username and Password in lower case
- Click Login
- On the homepage click on Academics>Online Registration then proceed to Begin Online Registration.
- Type the Course Code that needs to be registered then click on Search.
- Once the course is added click on the plus sign then proceed to the green plus sign, the unit will appear on the selected course and its highlighted in GREEN.
- Continue with the same procedure until all the units are selected, then click Proceed to Final Step.
- Once you are very sure the units are correctly selected click on REGISTER.
- Once registered, this screen shows the list of courses that the student has registered.
VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS
Students
MUST fill out an online registration form and attach the documents specified below for verification:
- For KUCCPS students: KCSE Result Slip, National ID/Birth Certificate, NHIF or other medical cover/insurance, banking slip for fee payment, passport size photograph.
- All other students: National ID/Birth Certificate, banking slip for fee payment, passport size photograph.
- International students: Identity Card/Passport, banking slip for fee payment, passport size photograph.
Please Note: Presentation of duly filled Joining Instruction Forms and physical verification of original documents will take place when the University opens for face-to-face learning.
