Nygard Endowment Awards for International Students in USA – 2021/2022


Application for the Nygard Endowment Awards for International Students in USA – 2021/2022. Entry is now open at the University of North Dakota in USA.



The programme helps outstanding who want to commence undergraduate degree coursework for the academic session 2021/2022. The University of North Dakota will provide an award amount of $1,000 to the high achieving students for the academic year 2021/2022.

Established in 1883, the University of North Dakota offers over 250 academic programs. UND is the only university in the state of North Dakota with undergraduate, law, and medical schools.

The Scholarships are one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world. The aim of the program is to create a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.



Scholars are selected on the following criteria:

  • All nationalities
  • The program is available for an undergraduate degree course in any subject areas.
  • The student must be a UND, full-time, any degree-seeking, an international student taking courses on the Grand Forks campus o Exchange student status does not meet this requirement
  • The student must be in valid F-1 status with the Department of Homeland Security by the start of the academic term in which The grant is to be awarded
  • The student must be in good financial standing at UND
  • To qualify, students must fall under one of the below categories:
  • Canadian students of Finnish ancestry
  • Finnish students of Finnish ancestry
  • Bahamian students
  • Students should exhibit traits in the following:
  • Strong work ethic
  • Sound moral character
  • Proven record of academic achievement
  • Potential for leadership in career achievement
  • ACT / SAT Scores and High School GPA or GED Test Scores are required to have.
  • Before commencing your studies at UND, you’ll need to demonstrate English language proficiency.


  • Before applying, applicants must be accepted to the University of North Dakota. The best way to search and apply for a scholarship is to use UND Scholarship Central and submit a general application.

  • Applicants are required to submit official high school transcripts be sent directly to- UND Office of Admissions, 3501 University Ave Stop 8357, Grand Forks, ND 58202-8357
  • Only applications that have been submitted (with the International Office and registered on the website of the scholarship) before April 1, 2021  will be considered.
