The PhD project is experimental-based and is available for ambitious students who want to focus on developing new strategies to discover supramolecular organic materials using experimental methods and robotic platforms. The successful candidate will develop a diverse skill set in organic synthesis, purification, and characterization. The university will provide full tuition fees and a maintenance grant for 3.5 years. The maintenance grant will be at the UKRI rate, currently £15,609.00 per annum for 2021-22, subject to a possible increase. The award will pay full home tuition fees and a maintenance grant for 3.5 years. Non-UK applicants may have to contribute to the higher non-UK tuition fees.

PHD STUDENTSHIPS ELIGIBILITY

Scholars are selected on the following criteria:

  • All nationalities.
  • PhD degree in Organic Materials Discovery offered by the University.
  • Open to International applicants
  • Students must have to enroll in the PhD degree programme at the University.
  • The applicants must have strong math and programming skills.
  • Applicants should hold, or expect to obtain, a good degree equivalent to a UK First or Upper Second Class degree in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or another relevant discipline.
  • All students applying to the University of Liverpool must demonstrate that they are competent in the use of the English language and satisfy the University’s requirements.

PHD STUDENTSHIPS APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Applicants need to take admission to the PhD degree programme at the University. To apply for the studentship, interested applicants are encouraged to contact Dr. Marc Little (malittle@liverpool.ac.uk) by email.

Application must include:

  • Applicants must have to attach Curriculum Vitae, Two reference letters, and Degree Transcripts to date to the online application. Please also ensure you quote the following reference on your application: Reference CCPR041 and the topic title Organic Materials Discovery.
  • Only applications that have been submitted (with the International Office and registered on the website of the scholarship) before 31 July, 2022  will be considered.
