We are pleased to announce that the application for the Kyambogo University (KYU) graduate programmes application is now open for 2025/2026.
The Academic Registrar, Kyambogo University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Master Degrees, and Doctoral programs) for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. All programmes are privately sponsored, and tuition fees exclude functional fees, research costs, books, accommodation, bank charges, and other expenses. Applicants must possess prerequisite academic/professional qualifications from institutions recognized by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and meet programme-specific accreditation requirements.
Kyambogo University (KYU) Graduate programmes Eligibility and Requirements
General Eligibility:
- Prerequisite qualifications (academic/professional) from an NCHE-recognized institution.
- Programmes must have been accredited at the time of completion.
Programme-Specific Requirements:
Faculty of Social Sciences
- PhD in Social Work (GDSW)
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, etc.
- Research synopsis (7 pages max), writing samples, interview (60%+), two reference letters, personal statement.
- Master of Counseling Psychology (GMCP)

- Second Class Bachelor’s degree in Guidance and Counselling, Community Psychology, etc.
Faculty of Engineering
- Master of Science in Construction Technology and Management (GMET)
- Second Class Upper Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, etc., or relevant work experience.
School of Education
- PhD in Education (GDED)
- Master’s degree in Education and a research synopsis (3–5 pages).
Faculty of Science
- PhD in Food Technology (GDFT)
- Master’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, etc., and a research synopsis.
Application Procedure
- Online Registration: Visit https://apply.kyu.ac.ug, register, and log in using OTP.
- Upload Documents: Scan and upload academic transcripts, certificates, ID, referee letters, and proof of experience (if applicable).
- Payment: Pay a non-refundable fee (UGX 50,000 for East Africans; UGX 75,000 for international applicants) via approved banks.
- Submission: Print the biodata form, attach certified documents, passport photo, and referees’ letters, and submit to the Directorate of Research and Graduate Training.
- Deadline: Sunday, 3rd May 2025.
