“Empower Your Future: Musina Municipality’s Unemployed Learnership, Apprenticeship, and Skills Programme for Youth”

Are you an unemployed youth looking to gain work experience and attain a recognized qualification? Musina Municipality, funded by the Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority (LGSETA), is offering learnership programs, apprenticeships, and skills programs. These opportunities are designed to equip youth with essential skills and experience in various fields.

Musina Municipality, in collaboration with LGSETA, is dedicated to preparing unemployed youth for the working world. We provide opportunities for acquiring work experience, leading to the attainment of an NQF linked and SAQA approved qualifications in specific fields.

Opportunities Available

1. Further Education and Training Certificate: Municipal Finance and Administration (Learnership)

  • National Qualification Framework: Level 4
  • Requirements: Grade 12 with Business Studies, Communication, and Accounting or Mathematics Literacy, or a Further Education and Training Certificate NQF Level 3 or equivalent Qualification.
  • Number of Learners: 20
  • Monthly Stipend: R 2 500
  • Duration: 12 Months (1 year)

2. Occupational Certificate: Electrical (Apprenticeship)

  • National Qualification Framework: Level 4
  • Requirements: Grade 12 with Mathematics, N2-N4 Electrical Engineering, or Equivalent Qualification with Mathematics.
  • Number of Learners: 30
  • Monthly Stipend: R 3 000
  • Duration: 36 Months (3 Years)

3. Further Education and Training Certificate: Plumbing (Learnership)

  • National Qualification Framework: Level 3
  • Requirements: N2 Plumbing, National Certificate: Plumbing L2 (or equivalent), Mathematical literacy at NQF Level 3, Communication at NQF Level 3.
  • Number of Learners: 25
  • Monthly Stipend: R 2 500
  • Duration: 12 Months (1 year)

Musina Municipality Unemployed Learnership Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Be South African citizens with permanent residence.
  2. Should not have previous work experience or have participated in any learnership/ Work-integrated Learning/ internship program.
  3. Should not be older than 35 years.
  4. Should not have previously benefited from LGSETA programs for the same program.
  5. Must commit to adhering to learnership agreements and fulfill all terms & conditions of the program for the duration of the learnership, including completion and submission of POE’s.

How to Apply

Interested applicants must specify the qualification they are applying for, accompanied by an updated curriculum vitae and recently certified copies of original qualifications, academic transcripts, SA ID document, and proof of residential address confirmed either by a Headman, Municipality, or Councillor.

Please note, appointment on the program is subject to security clearance, verification of qualifications, and signing of the program contract. Only shortlisted candidates will be interviewed and correspondence will be limited to shortlisted and selected candidates. If you do not hear from us within 3 weeks of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.
