- Be a South African citizen
- Have received an A in Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and Bs for all other subjects in Matric
- Must study at one of the following universities:
- North-West University
- University of Cape Town
- University of Stellenbosch
- University of Pretoria
- University of the Witwatersrand
- University of Free State
