Sasol New Signatures Art Competition Eligibility
Eligibility for the Sasol New Signatures Art Competition includes the following criteria:
- Applicants must be South African artists over 18 years old.
- They should not have held a solo exhibition, excluding those conducted for academic purposes, such as a Master’s degree exhibition.
- Artworks can be submitted in any artistic medium, including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, video, and installations.
Sasol New Signatures Art Competition Application Procedure
Artists interested in participating can follow these steps:
- Prepare your artwork for the competition (details on pricing, framing, signatures, weight restrictions, etc., will be provided in the upcoming online tutorials).
- Complete the necessary entry form and supporting documentation.
- Submit your artwork at one of the designated collection points around the country on the specified dates.
Application Dates
Artworks can be submitted on Tuesday, 6 June and Wednesday, 7 June 2023, from 10:00 to 16:00. The winner of the Sasol New Signatures Art Competition will be announced on Wednesday, 6 September 2023.
As a part of the competition, the winner will receive R100,000 and a solo exhibition at next year’s exhibition. The runner-up will be awarded R25,000, and five merit award winners will each receive R10,000
