The VKB Group offer a Learnership opportunity to unemployed learners to apply in the fields that are in line with the Corporation’s core business. The Corporation is therefore inviting applications for the VKB Group Accounting Students Learnership Programme that runs for a maximum period of 3 weeks in the following disciplines/fields of study.

The VKB Group Accounting Students Learnership Programme uses a fully integrated approach that combines theory with practical training and leads to a recognized qualification/certification. VKB Group provides an learnership opportunity in the following areas listed below:

  • Accounting

  • Reitz, Free State

VKB GROUP ACCOUNTING STUDENTS LEARNERSHIP ROLES, APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS

Employment Period

  • Employment Period:       Candidates should be available for 2 – 3 consecutive weeks between either:
    • 1 – 30 November 2021

    And

    • 3 – 31 January 2022

Exposure

  • Performing audits (Planning, Execution, Reporting).
  • Interpreting financial records.
  • Working in teams.
  • Attending meetings with companies within the VKB group.
  • Working on accounting programs, additional exposure to MS Excel in the audit environment.
  • You will be working with members busy doing their SAICA articles.
  • Exposure to Professional behavior in corporate environment.

Requirements

  • Studying towards a B.Acc or BCom degree, Internal audit qualifications will also be considered (preferably 2nd/3rd year)
  • Have basic knowledge to MS Excel.
  • Energetic to learn.
  • Ability to do additional research on audit topics not yet covered in your studies.
  • Ability to work overtime when requested.
  • Available for 2 – 3 consecutive weeks.
  • Able to visit VKB Head Office in Reitz during the contract period.
  • Strong work ethics.
  • Travel will be required when necessary.
  • Ability to communicate in English, Afrikaans will be an added advantage.

Additional Information

  • You will be provided with a laptop and internet connectivity for the period.

  • Last Semester marks (if you are a 1st year student, matric certificate)
