GHANA INSTITUTE OF JOURNALISM ADMISSION GUIDELINES AND FORMS

Application to GIJ is basically online and by post depending on your preference. We therefore advise applicants to begin the application process early. To become a student at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, you have to note the following:

Online Application Procedure

(I) DOMESTIC APPLICANTS/GENERAL ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Steps to Complete the Online Application Form
  1. An applicant must pay the relevant application fee at any Fidelity Bank branch by providing applicant’s name and telephone number.
  2. You will be provided with your application number/ transaction ID at the bank that will grant you access to the Online Admission Portal.
  3. Applicant should then proceed to the Online Admission Portal:  https://admissions.gij.edu.gh/ to begin the application process.
  4. Once the process has been completed, applicant must print out a copy of the completed application form together with one passport photograph and supporting documents to the address below.

THE DEPUTY REGISTRAR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS REGISTRY GHANA INSTITUTE OF JOURNALISM P.O. BOX GP 667, ACCRA  Closing dates for applications:
  • Level 300 Top-Up Admissions: Monday, 31st October 2022
  • Mature Entrance Admissions: Friday, 30th August 2022
  • WASSCE Applicants: Saturday, 31st December 2022

Note that no application will be processed without proof of payment of the fee.

GHANA INSTITUTE OF JOURNALISM APPLICATION FEE

The application fee is GH¢300.00 for Ghanaian applicants and US$ 150.00 for applicants outside Ghana and Non-Ghanaian applicants.

  • GIJ Admission Registration 2023/2024 is scheduled to close on (Date is listed above)
  • The Ghana Institute of Journalism Application Portal is expected to shut down on the same date at 11:59 PM.
