For admission into programmes of study at the Anglican Ghana Institute of Languages, GIL for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for a successful admission.

Entry requirements for School of Bilingual Secretaryship (SOBS)
Students seeking admission to the 3-year Higher National Diploma(HND) of the Ghana Institute of Languages, GIL must have any of the following:- Senior High School Certificate with credits in English, French, Mathematics, social studies and any other subjects, or
- G.C.E “O” Level/West Africa School Certificate with credits in five (5) subjects including English, French and Mathematics, Or
- Baccalaureat – All categories with at least 8/20 in Mathematics and English.
Entry requirements for School of Translators (SOT)
Students seeking admission to the 4-year (for Francophones)/5-year (for Anglophones) degree programme of the Ghana Institute of Languages, GIL must have any of the following:- Senior High School Certificate/ WASSCE with credits in core Mathematics, Social studies and any 2 other subjects, or
- Three (3) G.C.E passes at the advanced level in French and Literature-in-English and any other subject, Or
- University degree in modern languages including French (Francophone) and English (Anglophone)
- Baccalaureat series A4 with a minimum of 12 in English.
Entry requirements for Mature Entry Applicants
- Mature students: applicants must be 25 years old and above.
- Should show proof of birth certificate or any legal document of age declaration and document should be at least 5 years old at the time of the application.
- Should show an introductory letter from employer or a proof of employment (only applicable to those applying for the degree programme)
- Sit and obtain a good pass in the entrance exam.
