MMU SESSIONAL DATES FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC YEAR
The academic calendar for 2025/2026 academic session as approved by senate of the Maasai Mara University, MMU.SEMESTER I: 1st September 2025 – 6th February 2026 (13 Weeks)
For: All undergraduate programmes, including Diplomas and Certificates.
Key Dates & Activities:
- 1st September 2025: Commencement of Lectures (Week 1).
- 19th September 2025: Deadline for course registration (requires 60% fees paid).
- 10th November 2025: Resumption of lectures after a strike.
- 17th – 28th November 2025: First Continuous Assessment Test (CAT) (Weeks 4-6).
- 24th – 28th November 2025: Internal moderation of Semester I exam papers (Week 5).
- 1st – 5th December 2025: External moderation of Semester I exam papers (Week 6).
- 15th December 2025 – 16th January 2026: Second CAT (Weeks 8-10).
- 19th December 2025: 13th Graduation Ceremony.
- 22nd December 2025 – 2nd January 2026: Christmas Break.
- 5th January 2026: Continuation of lectures & submission of moderated exam papers to Exams Office (Week 9).
- 12th January 2026: Deadline for exam registration (requires 100% fees paid) (Week 10).
- 23rd January 2026: End of Lectures (Week 11).
- 26th January – 6th February 2026: End of Semester I Examinations (Weeks 12-13).
SEMESTER II: 9th February – 30th April 2026 (12 Weeks)

- 9th – 20th February 2026: Joint marking of Semester I examinations (2 weeks).
- 9th February 2026: Reporting, registration, and commencement of lectures (Week 1).
- 27th February 2026: Deadline for course registration (requires 60% fees paid) (Week 3).
- 2nd – 19th March 2026: First CAT (Weeks 4-6).
- 9th – 13th March 2026: Internal moderation of Semester II exam papers (Week 5).
- 16th – 19th March 2026: External moderation of Semester II exam papers (Week 6).
- 20th March 2026: Public Holiday (Idd ul-Fitr).
- 30th March – 17th April 2026: Second CAT (Weeks 8-10).
- 3rd April 2026: Public Holiday (Good Friday).
- 6th April 2026: Public Holiday (Easter Monday).
- 7th April 2026: Submission of moderated exam papers to Exams Office (Week 9).
- 10th April 2026: Deadline for exam registration (requires 100% fees paid) (Week 9).
- 14th April 2026: End of Lectures (Week 10).
- 15th – 30th April 2026: End of Semester II Examinations (Weeks 10-12).

TRIMESTER III: 4th May – 14th August 2026 (15 Weeks)
For: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Cohorts; Postgraduate, Diploma, and Certificate Programmes.

- 4th May 2026: Reporting, registration, and commencement of lectures/clinical placement (Week 1).
- 22nd May 2026: Deadline for course registration (requires 60% fees paid) (Week 3).
- 25th May 2026: Submission of draft question papers.
- 25th May – 12th June 2026: First CAT (Weeks 4-6).
- 27th May 2026: Public Holiday (Eid al-Adha).
- 1st June 2026: Public Holiday (Madaraka Day).
- 8th June 2026: Internal moderation of exam papers (Week 5).
