UVTAB Registration Fees Structure – 2026/2027

This article contains information on the Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) Registration Fees Structure for 2026/2027 candidates and how to pay. It also contains the UVTAB registration schedule of payment and payment procedures for 2026 candidates.

UVTAB Registration Fees Structure - 2026

In anticipation of the forthcoming UVTAB May/June 2026 assessments, the Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) — which now replaces the former UBTEB and the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) under the TVET Act No. 3 of 2025 — has confirmed and published the fee frameworks that all candidates must follow before being considered for examination. Candidates are expected to note the transcript, certificate fees, and schedule of payment as stated in the official circulars below.

>>> All official information is now published exclusively on the UVTAB portals: uvtab.go.ug and cms.uvtab.go.ug. The former ubteb.go.ug domain is no longer the authoritative source and any information found there is considered outdated.

UVTAB REGISTRATION FEE SCHEDULE 2026

UVTAB candidates are expected to take the following payment information seriously to avoid missing out on the forthcoming assessments and graduation. The 2026 fee structure is distributed across three official circulars, each covering a specific category of candidates:

  • Circular No. 2 of 2026 — Registration and Examination Fees for the May/June 2026 assessment cycle, covering Technology, Education and Training, and Home Science programmes
  • Circular No. 3 of 2026 — Registration Fees for Modular Programmes and general 2026 assessments
  • Circular No. 4 of 2026 — Registration and Assessment Fees for the Informally Acquired Skills (IAS) pathway, including Modular, Worker’s PAS, and Full Occupational Levels I–IV

Candidates must first identify their programme type and then refer to the corresponding circular on the official UVTAB website for the exact fee amounts in Ugandan Shillings (UGX).

Note: Fee information for Business Programmes and Occupational Competence-Based Assessment and Training (OCBAT) is not yet confirmed in official circulars at the time of publication. Candidates in these categories should check directly on the UVTAB Notice Board for updates.

UVTAB PAYMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2026

UVTAB has introduced a mandatory centralized digital payment system for the 2026 registration cycle. The following payment rules apply to all candidates without exception:

  • All registration and assessment fees must be paid exclusively through the official SchoolPay platform. This is the only accepted payment channel.
  • Direct bank deposits into UVTAB bank accounts are strictly prohibited, as explicitly stated in Circular No. 4 of 2026. Payments made through direct deposit will not be credited to a candidate’s registration account.
  • When making payment via SchoolPay, candidates must provide accurate reference information, including their candidate number, full name, and the specific programme or assessment they are registering for. Incomplete or incorrect references may result in payment delays or failed registration.
  • After payment, candidates should retain the SchoolPay confirmation receipt and log back into the UVTAB registration portal to confirm their payment status is reflected correctly.
  • Any discrepancy between the payment confirmation and the portal status must be reported to UVTAB immediately through official support channels.

CERTIFICATE AND TRANSCRIPT FEES

Beyond registration and examination fees, candidates should also plan for ancillary charges that apply after successful completion of their assessments. These include fees for the issuance of official certificates and transcripts. The specific UGX amounts for these services will be formally communicated by UVTAB through official circulars and the notice board. Candidates are advised to budget for these additional costs as part of the full expense of obtaining their qualification.
