For admission into programmes of study at the Coastal TVET College for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for successful admission:.

Coast Television COLLEGE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR NC (V) STUDENTS

  • Students who endeavour to enrol in the NCV Level 2 Business and General Studies programmes must have completed and passed Grades 10–11 and Grade 12 with Mathematics for Information and Technology as well as Finance, Economics, and Accounting.
  • Students who endeavour to enrol in NCV Level 2, all Engineering Studies, must have completed and passed a minimum of Grades 10–11 Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy).
  • Students who endeavour to enrol in NCV Level 2 Electrical Construction may, on applying for employment, be required to pass a colour competency test.

Progression Criteria
  • Students who endeavour to enrol in NCV Level 3 must have already passed a minimum of five NCV Level 2 subjects.
  • Students who endeavour to enrol in NCV Level 4 must have already passed all 7 Level 2 subjects as well as a minimum of 5 NCV Level 3 subjects.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR REPORT 191 STUDENTS

  • Students who endeavour to enrol in Report 191 Business Studies (N4-NS) must have passed either NCV Level 4 (21 subjects from L2-L4) or have obtained a National Senior Certificate (Matric). Previous subject studies and directions will influence course enrollment.
    • In addition, for the Management Assistant N4 programme, students must have passed Grade 12 typing or compu-typing. If this criterion is not met, students must enrol in the Introductory Business Studies N4 programmememe for the first semester, and in the second semester, they may proceed to the N4 programmememe if they successfully pass the introductory programmememe.
    • In addition, for the Financial Management N4 programme, students must have passed Grade 12 Accounting. If this criterion is not met, students must enrol in the Introductory Business Studies N4 programmememe for the first semester and do the Introductory Accounting N4, and in the second semester, they may proceed to the N4 programmememe if they successfully pass the introductory programmememe.
  • Students who endeavour to enrol in Report 191 Engineering Studies N2 must have passed at least Grade 10-Grade 12 Mathematics (and not Mathematical Literacy); if the student has done Mathematical Literacy, he or she must enrol in Report 191 Engineering Studies Nl. School levels, subjects passed, and/or other previous studies will influence your enrollment in specific courses and/or levels. An RPL process will be conducted during the enrollment process.
  • Please note that for electrical engineering, students may, on applying for employment, be required to pass a colour competency test.
