The Edutel Higher Education Admission Requirements for 2024–2025 for all the courses at the postgraduate, undergraduate, certificate, and diploma levels are updated every year.

For admission into programmes of study at Edutel Higher Education for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for successful admission:.
EDUTEL HIGHER EDUCATION ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Diploma in Grade R Teaching
Minimum admission requirements:
- National Senior Certificate (NSC), which grants access to Diploma studies or
- National Certificate (Vocational) NC (V) at NQF Level 4, which grants access to Diploma studies or
- A Level 4 or level 5 Certificate in Early Childhood Development or
- A foreign qualification that is equivalent to the NSC as determined by SAQA or
- A Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) at NQF Level 4.
- Students who have completed their senior certificate prior to 2008 must have obtained at least four subjects on level D or higher.
Advanced Certificate in Foundation Phase Teaching
Minimum admission requirements:
- A three-year College of Education Diploma or
- A National Professional Diploma in Education (NPDE) at Level 5 or
- Advanced Certificate in Education at NQF Level 6—not specialising in Foundation Phase Teaching or
- A former undergraduate Higher Diploma in Education or
- A former Further Diploma in Education not specialising in Foundation Phase Teaching or
- A professional Bachelor of Education (BEd) Degree or
- A Bachelor’s degree plus a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or
- University Education Diploma.
Advanced Diploma in Education in School Leadership and Management
Minimum admission requirements:
- A BEd, or a general first degree or diploma, plus an Advanced Diploma in Teaching, or a former PGCE or Higher Diploma in Education Postgraduate (HDE PG) or
- A former Advanced Certificate in Education, a former college Higher Diploma in Education or Further Diploma in Education,
- An Advanced Certificate in Teaching.
