This article contains information on the Maritime Business Institute Application Form and requirements for admission into certificate and Diploma programmes for the 2024–2025 academic year.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified SCHOOL LEAVERS, NON-SCHOOL LEAVERS, and SPECIAL CASES.
MARITIME BUSINESS INSTITUTE ADMISSION GUIDELINES AND FORMS
It is in your best interest to apply before the deadline, as space is limited per course.
In your email, please attach the following relevant documents: certified copies of your ID, a Matric certificate or statement of results, or any other relevant qualification.
You will need the following documentation when registering at the Maritime Business Institute:
- 2 X Certified Copies of your National Certificate
- Proof of Residence
- 2 X Certified copies of learner Identity Document
- 2 X Identity Photos
- Proof Payment (Registration Fee or Deposit)
Students may use any of the following two methods of applying:
- On campus, after arranging an interview with a Maritime Business Institute student advisor,. A student may fill out the requisite forms and make a complete payment of the registration fee at our Finance Department. Please remember to bring along certified copies of your ID (including parents and guardians), a Matric certificate or statement of results, or any other relevant qualification.
- Online: COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM and pay the registration fee (non-refundable). Your space is only confirmed upon payment of the full registration fee. A Maritime Business Institute student advisor will then make contact with you via telephone or email. You will then need to come in to the college to finalise your registration
UPLOAD SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION
Everyone applying for a new qualification must submit the required documents (all first-time applicants and Orbit TVET College students starting a new qualification). The due date for uploading the required documents is the closing date for applications. No documents submitted after the closing date for applications will be accepted.
Orbit TVET College does not provide scanners or electronic devices. Please ensure that your documents are scanned and uploaded to an electronic device before starting the application process.

If your application for admission to study through the Maritime Business Institute is incomplete, you will have to reapply during the next application period.
MARITIME BUSINESS INSTITUTE APPLICATION REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
All applicants starting a new qualification must upload all the required documents, which generally consist of the following:
- Birth Certificate or Identity Document (Proof of application for new ID or passport)
- The most recent Academic results
- Certificates/Qualifications
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE)
- Study Permit (valid for the duration of the study period)
- SAQA Foreign Qualifications Evaluation (www.saqa.org.za)
- Passport
