NSG eLearning Portal: elearning.thensg.gov.za (Step by Step Guide)
This article contains information on how to gain access to the National School of Government (NSG) eLearning Portal (https://elearning.thensg.gov.za) also known as E-Learning Management System (LMS).
The National School of Government (NSG) seeks to improve learning processes for its student. Therefore, it is pleased to announce the adoption of a Learning Management System (LMS), that would make it easy for students to attend classes online, get lecture notes and submit assignments anywhere and anytime.
STEPS ON HOW TO ACCESS AND ENROL FOR THE NSG E-LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.Â
The following is a guide on how to enrol in the LMS.
- Open your internet browser e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc.
- Go to NSG E-learning Portal (https://elearning.thensg.gov.za)
- Select Log in
- Once logged in, scroll down the page to Course Categories. Select your School
- Select your course or check for your course in your department.
- You will then see the content for your course.
Go through the checklist below to identify any areas in which you still need assistance. Forward your queries to us in any of the following ways:
- Send an email to NSG.
- Log into our online learning support module for students in Blackboard to check out all our support resources and to ask your questions by participating in the discussion forum within the module.

i am struggling to login, i forgot my login details

If you have forgotten your NSG eLearning login details, you can reset your password by clicking the “Forgot Password” link on the login page at elearning.thensg.gov.za. Enter your registered email address and follow the instructions sent to your inbox. If you are still unable to log in, contact the NSG helpdesk for further assistance.

If you are struggling to log in to the NSG eLearning portal, try the following:
1. Click “Forgot Password” on the login page at elearning.thensg.gov.za
2. Enter your registered email address to receive a password reset link
3. Check your spam/junk folder if you do not see the email
If the issue persists, contact the NSG helpdesk for further assistance.
