HOW TO ACCESS/LOGIN TO THE TUT STUDENT PORTAL

For 2026, TUT runs four key digital platforms and each one handles a specific set of tasks. The recommended starting point for all students is the Official Student Portal, which serves as the central entry point to all TUT digital services:

• Official Student Portal: https://os.tut.ac.za/studentportal/Login — Log in with your username and password or your ITS pin. This portal provides direct links to iEnabler, myTUTor, and other key services.

For administrative tasks and academic records, the correct platform to use is the ITS iEnabler portal:

1. Open your internet browser e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc.
2. Go to https://ienabler.tut.ac.za/pls/prodi41/wtut012pkg.startup
3. Kindly log in with your TUT Student ID number and password. You can also use your ITS pin as an alternative login method.
4. Once logged in, you will be able to perform any of the academic activities including module registration, document uploads, application status checks, financial records, assessment and predicate marks, and your personal examination timetable.

For online course materials, assignments and lecturer content, use the myTUTor LMS:

1. Go to https://www.tut.ac.za/mytutor-home/
2. Click the Login button at the top-right corner of the page.
3. Enter your TUT4Life email address as your username — for example, studentnumber@tut4life.ac.za. This is not the same as your Student ID number used on iEnabler. These are two separate login systems.
4. Enter the password linked to your TUT4Life email account.
5. Click Login to access your dashboard where your registered modules will appear.

A module will only show on your myTUTor dashboard after you have registered for it on iEnabler. If a module is missing from your dashboard, that is the first place to check.

HOW TO RECOVER YOUR TUT STUDENT PORTAL FORGOTTEN PASSWORD?

• Visit the official Student Support Hub at https://www.tut.ac.za/i-am-a-student/ and use the password reset tool available there. Follow the on-screen steps to verify your identity and create a new password.
• Before requesting a reset, double-check that Caps Lock is off and that your credentials are typed correctly. A simple typing error is one of the most common causes of a failed login.
• If you are a new student and your login keeps failing, your TUT4Life account may not have been fully activated yet. Download the official TUT4Life and Eduroam Setup Guide from the TUT website and follow the steps to complete the activation.
• After several failed login attempts, your account may be temporarily locked as a security measure. The support hub will guide you on how to resolve it.
• If none of the self-service options work, contact the ITS Helpdesk directly. Their contact details are on the support hub page.

Note for 2026: All TUT accounts now require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). When resetting your password, make sure your MFA method — whether an authenticator app or your registered mobile number — is available, as it will be needed to confirm your identity during the process.
