UIF Entitlements For Ex-Teacher Assistants

    0

This article contains an update on the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) for former teacher assistants.

As we edge closer to the deadline of the PYEI application, the KZN Education Department released a statement saying that all former general school assistants (GSAs) and educator assistants (EAs) going through the process of submitting their information for all 3 phases of the PYEI, will have completed the process by then. In addition, the process of submission to the Department of Labor will be handled by the Department of Education.

Let’s not forget that a large number of people have been given placement in the 3 phases of the government teacher assistant programme. Therefore, they are to come forward to claim their UIF. The reason for receiving this Unemplyment Insurance Fund is because of the fact that some are currently unemployed.

Please note that the UIF payment can only be made to this ex-teacher assistant if and only if they are currently unemployed. Fortunately, during their employment period, the teacher assistants received informal and formal training by the Education Department, providing the youth with an opportunity to gain skills and experience that they will use in their prospective jobs.

Application for the fourth phase of the PYEI is still open to interested applicants. Kindly grab this opportunity while it lasts.
