How to Apply for UNAM Online Application 2024/2025

We are pleased and excited to announce to you that the University of Namibia’s UNAM Online Application for the 2024–2025 academic year is now open to all interested and qualified applicants. We are not just making this announcement known but also providing various steps on how to apply online for UNAM admission. 

Gather all the necessary documents and get ready to follow the steps on our website to complete a successful UNAM online application. We will try as much as possible to make your application smooth and seamless. But before we proceed, remember that this application is open to all prospective undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate students. The only thing you need right now to apply for admission to the prestigious University of Namibia is for you to be eligible and ready. 

The management of the University of Namibia, UNAM, is no stranger to technology, as they have made this application exclusively online, unlike the rigorous task of going through the paper-based application (only when necessary). This is why they opened an application portal for all high school leavers and those trying to further their studies either part-time or full-time.

STEPS ON HOW TO APPLY ONLINE FOR UNAM ADMISSION

To use the UNAM online application feature, you must have a working internet device, a valid email address which is not shared with another UNAM applicant, your South African identity number, or, if you are an international applicant, and your passport number. Kindly follow the easy steps below to apply online for UNAM (University of Namibia Online Application) admission:   

STEP 1 – Apply Online

• Please apply online via the UNAM Application Portal and hover onto Study@UNAM, and then Online Application (New Students) fields respectively.
• Fill in the Biographical Information as per the fields in the form.
  • Always click on the magnifying glass icon for fields marked with a magnifying glass icon to fill the field. Search for the right option and click enter to populate the field – Do not type out the answer.
  • To search for an option, enter a few starting characters of your choice after the % sign and click on the search button. E.g. %Silo for Silozi under mother tongue.
  • At the LAST YEAR OF SECONDARY SCHOOL field, ensure that the date format is entered in the correct format (YYYYMM).
  • Once done filling out the form, click on the SAVE button to proceed.
• The system will issue you with a student number. Please note this number down as this will be your unique reference code with the University of Namibia throughout.
  • You’re then required to create a 5 Digits numeric pin code.
  • A PIN like 14863 is fine but 12478 or 11258 is not.
• Once you create your PIN successfully, you’ll be re-directed to a portal where you’re required to complete the rest of your application. (E.g. Uploading of documents etc.) Fill in all required fields under the Application tab step by step.
• The documents are uploaded under the Enter School Leaving Subjects tab
• Ensure that you complete all fields as required. Save each page.
• When you are done, kindly click on the ‘Submit‘ button to get your application submitted.   

STEP 2 – Acknowledgement of Application

• You will receive an email confirming online submission of your application immediately.  
• Within three working days, you should receive formal acknowledgment of your application along with your student number and log-in details.  
• Note this acknowledgement does not mean you’ve been accepted or admitted to UNAM.  

STEP 3 – Upload Supporting Documents

In order to consider your application, please upload every necessary supporting documents listed below on this article. If the application is incomplete, it may be declined by the University. 

STEP 4 – Acceptance of Offer

When we update your application, you will receive an email communication. Please monitor your email account closely for updates. You can also check your status online with the log-in credentials that we will send you after you apply. We are not permitted to disclose your application status telephonically.

MATURE AGE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

You are required to upload the following certified PDF documents during the online application process:

• Grade 10 or Standard 8 School Certificate
• Grade 12 or Standard 10 School Certificate (School of Medicine, School of Phar-macy, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Bachelor of Accounting (Chartered Accountancy), Bachelor of Law (Honours)
• ID or Passport
• Other previous Qualifications
• Proof of 5 years working experience

NORMAL APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

You are required to upload the following certified PDF documents during the online application process:

• Grade 12 or Standard 10 Certificate
• ID or Passport
• Other previous Qualifications

POSTGRADUATE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

You are required to upload the following certified PDF documents during the online application process:

• School Leaving Certificate
• Degree Certificate(s)
• Academic Transcript(s)
• Official Translation (Non-English Documents)
• NQA Evaluation Report (International Qualifications)
• All Masters of Education (Attach Proof of teaching experience)
• Research Topic Concept note for all Masters and PhD candidates
• ID or Passport
