Grade 7, 9, 12 and GCE Registration Deadline – 2026/2027 Exam
This article provides information on the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) Grade 7, 9, 12 and GCE Registration deadline for the 2026/2027 examination cycle. It also contains the link to the ECZ’s application information and the registration portal.
The Examinations Council of Zambia wishes to notify all stakeholders and the general public that registration of candidates for the 2026/2027 Examinations at Grade 7, 9 (external and internal), 12 and GCE levels is now open.
Note that registration is being done online through the Online Candidate Registration System (OCRS). Schools and exam centres can register candidates through this system.
Candidates in examination classes are advised to complete their registration for the 2026/2027 Examinations by making necessary payments and submitting details before the stipulated deadline.
GRADE 7, 9, 12 AND GCE REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Applicants are required to take note of the application deadline below:
- Grade 7, 9 (external and internal), 12 and GCE Exam Registration for 2026/2027 typically opens in November and closes in February/March.
- The Examination registration Portal will shut down on the deadline date at 11:59 PM.
- Check with your school or examination centre for the exact deadline for the current cycle.

EXAMINATION FEES – 2026/2027
The following examination fees apply for the 2026/2027 cycle:
- Primary School Leaving (PSL) Examination (Grade 7): K200
- Secondary Certificate of Learning (SCOL) Examination (Grade 9): K650
- General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination (Grade 12): K1,200
NEW EXAMINATION STRUCTURE
The Examinations Council of Zambia has implemented a new examination structure:
- PSL (Primary School Leaving): Replaces the former Grade 7 examination. This is the exit examination for primary school.
- SCOL (Secondary Certificate of Learning): Replaces the former Grade 9 examination. This is the junior secondary exit examination.
- GCE (General Certificate of Education): The senior secondary exit examination at Grade 12 level.
All three examinations are administered by ECZ and follow the same online registration process through the OCRS portal.
⚠️ Important: Always verify the current registration deadline and fees with your school or examination centre, as these may be updated by ECZ.

The OCR system has not been available for the past five days, cannot register remaining candidates, cannot view and print provisional register.
Serious challenge.
Your site is not reached, this has posed a challenge to enter the remaining candidates. When is the problem going to sorted out?
Why can’t you extend aleast you give us other one month to register plz
