At its meeting held on 24 April 2020, the ZCAS University Senate passed the following resolutions in respect of the June 2020 Final Examinations for all Postgraduate and Undergraduate Full Time, Part Time, Evening and Distance Education students.

ZCAS UNIVERSITY JUNE 2020 FINAL EXAMINATIONS

  • The June 2020 Final Examinations will be conducted from 1 – 10 June 2020.
  • The June 2020 Final Examinations will be conducted OFF-LINE through the ZCAS E-Learning Portal. NO face to face examinations will be conducted.
  • Students will NOT be required to travel to ZCAS or any examination centre.
  • Examination candidates can attempt the examinations from any convenient venue of their choice.
  • On the respective day and time of each examination, each student will login to the ZCAS E-Learning Portal, go to the Course page, download or print the question paper and answer the required number of questions OFF-LINE.
  • All answers should be written on the ZCAS University Answer Script which can be downloaded from the Homepage of the Portal. The Answer Script can be downloaded and the candidate’s details completed before the examination begins.
  • The duration of each examination will be three (3) hours and students will be able to upload their Answer Scripts during this period. Students will be given a further 30 minutes from the end of the three hours to upload their Answer Scripts. The total duration for each examination session is, therefore, three and a half (31/2) hours.
  • Completed Answer Scripts/solutions will need to be uploaded through the Turnitin Link on the Portal, just like with the assignments. This means that the upload link will become inactive after the set time.
  • Handwritten and scanned answer scripts will NOT be accepted as they cannot be subjected to plagiarism checking through Turnitin.
  • All examination questions will be a case study or scenario-based or problem based; therefore, it is unlikely that Googling or referring to study materials will yield answers. Examination candidates are therefore advised to strongly resist the temptation to search for answers on the internet or in books as this will eat up valuable time.
  • Only fully paid-up students will be allowed to sit for the examinations.
  • Students are requested to adequately prepare for the examinations. This should include:
    1. charging mobile devices, laptops, desktop computers etc. in advance in case of load shedding on the day of the examination;
    2. acquiring sufficient data bundles to download the question paper and upload the answer script;
    3.  identifying a quiet place with minimum disruptions to attempt the examination from; and
    4. improving typing speed and how to use MS Word (for all courses) and MS Excel (for computational courses) by practising in advance. This can be done by attempting past paper questions.
