The Ministry of Health (MOH) Ghana has officially opened its 2026 nationwide recruitment of health professionals. The recruitment commenced on April 16, 2026, following the granting of financial clearance. The Ministry of Health Recruitment Portal has been designed to enable qualified, registered health professionals who have been granted financial clearance by the Ministry of Finance to apply for positions in the agencies listed below:

  • TAMALE TEACHING HOSPITAL (TTH)
  • MENTAL HEALTH AUTHORITY (MHA)
  • KORLE BU TEACHING HOSPITAL (KBTH)
  • CAPE COAST TEACHING HOSPITAL (CCTH)
  • HO TEACHING HOSPITAL (HTH)
  • CHRISTIAN HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF GHANA (CHAG)
  • KOMFO ANOKYE TEACHING HOSPITAL (KATH)
  • GHANA HEALTH SERVICE (GHS)
  • AHMADIYYA MISSION HEALTH SERVICES (AMHS)

Important: All applications must be submitted exclusively through the official MOH Human Resources portal. Do not apply through any third-party website or unofficial link.

Ghana Ministry of Health (MOH) Recruitment Eligibility

  1. This portal is only for health professionals who have been granted financial clearance by the Ministry of Finance. Please note the following:
    1. Without financial clearance, you cannot be placed on the government payroll.
    2. Without financial clearance, you cannot create an account.
    3. The MOH cannot assist you in acquiring financial clearance under any circumstances.
  2. To check whether you have financial clearance for the 2026 recruitment round, visit the official clearance checker at https://hr.moh.gov.gh/check-clearance and enter your details as follows:
    1. Medical Officers — use their Medical and Dental Council (MDC) registration number
    2. Pharmaceutical Professionals — use their Pharmacy Council PIN
    3. Nurses and Midwives — use their NMC index number
    4. Allied Health Professionals — use their respective professional council PINs

    Note: You must enter your index number and full name exactly as they were registered with your professional council. Any discrepancy in spelling or numbers will cause the verification to fail.

  3. If the system confirms that you have financial clearance, you will be redirected to create an account and proceed with the application.

How to Apply for Ministry of Health (MOH) Recruitment 2026

  1. Visit the official MOH Recruitment Portal
  2. Before creating an account, check your financial clearance status at: https://hr.moh.gov.gh/check-clearance using your professional council PIN or index number.
  3. If cleared, create an account on the portal. You can log in using either your email address or phone number.
  4. Log in to your dashboard and complete the application form. Select your preferred district and position carefully.
  5. Upload all required supporting documents (e.g., professional registration certificate, educational certificates, national ID).
  6. Submit your application and use your dashboard to monitor your application status in real time (e.g., “Under Review”).

MOH Recruitment 2026 — Key Information by Cadre

Nurses and Midwives

  • Recruitment is a joint effort between the MOH and Ghana Health Service (GHS).
  • A valid NMC index number or PIN is required to check clearance and create an account.
  • The government plans to recruit 15,200 nurses and midwives in this exercise.
  • Applicants must select their preferred district and position from the options on the portal.

Medical Officers

  • Recruitment is primarily managed by the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
  • Announcements and vacancy details are also hosted on the GHS official website: https://ghs.gov.gh
  • Registration with the Medical and Dental Council (MDC) is mandatory.
  • Positions include clinical, management, and senior roles such as Medical Director.

Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Pharmacists

  • A dedicated press release for AHP career opportunities was issued by the MOH on April 9, 2026.
  • Pharmacists and AHPs must be registered with their respective professional councils (e.g., Pharmacy Council of Ghana).
  • Apply through the main MOH portal and select your specific profession during the application.

Other Health Cadres (Civil Service Roles)

  • Roles such as Environmental Health Officers, Hospital Administrators, Health Information Managers, and Biostatisticians may not fall under the MOH-specific portal.
  • These roles are likely managed through the central Ghana Civil Service application portal
  • Applicants should confirm which ministry or agency governs their specific cadre before applying.
