- KSCE Mean Grade of D+ (Plus), C- (minus) OR equivalent
- Minimum Entry Requirements:
- KSCE Mean Grade of C (Plain) OR equivalent
- Minimum Entry Requirements:
- An aggregate KCSE grade of C+ (PLUS) or a relevant Diploma from a recognized Institution
AMREF INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY, AMIU POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
A holder of a bachelor’s degree with Second class-Upper Division from a recognised institution of higher learning, or a holder of a lower second class degree with 2 (two) years’ experience in relevant field. In addition applicants must meet specific schools requirement. In exceptional cases, the Senate may also admit to the Master’s programme non-holders of a first degree provided such candidates can on the basis of published research, academic and creative work they have done, show that they are qualified to undertake postgraduate work by passing qualifying examinations
SPECIFIC AMIU ENTRY REQUIREMENTS OF EACH COURSES
- KCSE (or equivalent) Certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+

- minimum of C in Biology and Chemistry
- minimum C in English/Kiswahili and Mathematics/Physics;
- KACE with a minimum of two principal passes
- including Biology and subsidiary passes in Chemistry, Mathematics/Physics;
- Diploma (with a mean grade of C) in Public Health, Environmental Health, Clinical Medicine, Phar-macy, Community Health, Human Nutrition;
- The equivalent or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Public Health, Environmental Health, Clinical Medicine, Phar-macy, Community Health, Human Nutrition or the equivalent of any of these qualifications from an institution recognised by the University Senate.
- Attendance: Full time /Part time (Monday to Friday 5.30pm to 8.30pm)
- Duration: 4 years
- Intakes : January, May and September
- Tuition: KES 79,270 per trimester
- KCSE (or equivalent) Certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+

- KACE with a minimum of two principal passes including:
- Biology and subsidiary passes in Chemistry, Mathematics/Physics;
- Diploma (with a mean grade C) in Public Administration, Business Administration/Management, Public Health, Environmental Health, Clinical Medicine, Phar-macy, Community Health, Human Nutrition or the equivalent;
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in Public Administration, Business Administration/Management, Public Health, Environmental Health, Clinical Medicine, Phar-macy, Community Health, Human Nutrition, or the equivalent of any of these qualifications from an Institution recognised by the University Senate plus a KCSE mean grade C.
- Attendance: Full time /Part time (Monday to Friday 5.30pm to 8.30pm)
- Duration: 4 years
- Trimester: January/May/September
- Tuition: KES 79,270 per trimester
- A diploma in Nursing KRCHN, KRN and KRM) or its equivalent from a recognised institution
- A mean grade of C plain in KCSE or its equivalent with a C plain in English or Kiswahili.
- KCE/EACE Division II plus a Diploma in nursing and a pass in English or Kiswahili
- A minimum of 2 years working experience in a relevant setting after attainment of the Diploma in Nursing
- Attendance: Part-time (5 week face-to-face session in a 24 week semester)
- Mode of Delivery: A blend of face-to-face and e-learning model
- Intakes: March and September
- Duration: 5 semesters
- Tuition: Full Course KES 540,500
- A basic degree relevant to the applicant’s area of specialization, including Biological, Social and Health Sciences or other closely allied disciplines
- Upper Second class honours and above in relevant discipline or its equivalent from a university recognised by Amref International University Senate
- At least ONE year working Experience
- Any other qualification as recognized by the university Senate
- Attendance: Part time (Mon-Fri evening classes 5.00p.m to 8.00pm)
- Mode of Delivery: Face-to- face
- Duration: 2 years
- Intakes: January/September
- Tuition:
- Year 1 KES 292,000
- Year 2 KES 243,000
- Bachelor’s degree recognised by Amref International University and Commission for University Education with a Second Class Honours Upper Division or Second Division in a health related field with a minimum of two years of teaching experience in a health institution
- Master’s degree in health sciences or any other related discipline from a university recognised by Amref International University and Commission for university Education
- Any other qualification as recognized by the university Senate
- Attendance: Full time /Part time
- Duration: 2 years
- Intake: January/May/September
- Mode: Blended: Face-to-face & e-learning
- Tuition: KES 253, 991 or USD 2500 per year
