The University of Embu (UoEm) was established as a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi via a Legal Notice No. 65 of 17th June, 2011 by His Excellency the President. EUC is the successor of the former Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College which started in 1947 as an agricultural training school and was later renamed Embu Institute of Agriculture in 1968. The University of Embu was formally awarded a Charter by H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta at a colorful function held at State house, Nairobi. The objective of the University is to play a leading role in the development and expansion of the opportunities for higher education and research in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Veterinary Medicine, Forestry, Water and Biological and Physical sciences.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified SCHOOL LEAVERS, NON-SCHOOL LEAVERS and SPECIAL CASES.

- Candidates can apply, by downloading the application form Here.
- Completed forms can be submitted at any of our campuses or emailed to the address as indicated in the application form.
- The application forms cost a non-refundable application fee of KShs 2000 for East Africans and USD 50 or its equivalent for Non East Africans for Master’s degree programmes and KShs 4000 for East Africans and USD 50 or its equivalent for Non East Africans for Ph.D degree programmes
- No application is valid unless the appropriate application fee has been paid.

UNIVERSITY OF EMBU MEDICINE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
A candidate wishing to be admitted for Master of Economics degree MUST meet the general University requirements. In addition to meeting the general University admission requirements, the candidate must have any of the following:
- A holder of at least Upper Second Class honours Bachelor’s degree in economics or related fields of University of Embu or an equivalent qualification from institutions recognized by University of Embu Senate.
- A holder of Lower Second Class honours degree of University of Embu or an equivalent qualification from institutions recognized by University of Embu Senate with at least two years of post-qualification work experience.
- In exceptional cases, the Senate may also admit to the Master’s programme, non-holders of a first degree provided such candidates can, on the basis of the research and academic work they have done, show that they are well qualified to undertake postgraduate work, by passing qualifying examinations.
