University of Kabianga, UoK Admission Requirements: 2025/2026 for all the courses at the undergraduate, diploma and postgraduate level is updated every year. Therefore, this article contains the full list of all the undergraduate and Postgraduate courses coupled with their general requirements.
For admission into programmes of study at the University of Kabianga, UoK for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for a successful admission.

UNIVERSITY OF KABIANGA, UoK UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Entry requirements for an Undergraduate Course
Certificate in French- Admission Requirements:
- Mean grade of D+ (Plus) at KCSE and at least D+ (Plus) in English or Kiswahili
- Admission Requirements:
- Minimum Grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE with C- (Minus) in Maths/Physics, C- in any other two science subjects and C (Plain) in English / Kiswahili; OR
- KCE Div III with Pass of at least 8 (eight) in Mathematics or Physics, pass of at least 8 (eight) in any other two science subjects, and pass in English/Kiswahili; OR
- Holders of Certificate with Distinction, Credit or their equivalent in Forestry, Agroforestry, natural resource management, Agriculture, Horticulture, Farm management, Community development or in related fields from recognized institutions; OR
- Holders of Certificate with Distinction, Credit or their equivalent in Farm management and Community development or in related fields from recognized institutions and at least 2 years field experiences in relevant fields are also admissible.
Bachelor of Science in Communication & Public Relations
- Admission Requirements:
- Mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE and at least C+ (Plus) in English and C (Plain) in Mathematics OR
- A Diploma in Public Relations Journalism, IT Human Resource Management or any related field
Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration
- Admission Requirements:
- Minimum Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE OR
- Diploma in Public Administration or related field from a recognized Institution OR
- “A” Level 2 principals and a subsidiary
Bachelor of Environmental Studies
- Admission Requirements:
- Mean grade of C+ at KCSE and at least C in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, History, Agriculture, Business Studies, Religious Studies, English or Kiswahili and Geography. OR
- Two years ordinary diploma in environmental studies or related field from a recognized institution
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ with a at least C in English, Mathematics, Biology and in any one of the following: Physics, Chemistry and Geography OR
- Two (2) principal passes and a subsidiary at A-Level from the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and Geography
- Two year Diploma in Agroforestry/Forestry or related field from a recognized institution.
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ with at least C in English, Mathematics, Biology and in any one of the following: Physics, Chemistry and Geography OR
- Two (2) principal passes and a subsidiary at A-Level from the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and Geography

- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ with a C+ in Mathematics or Physics, C+ in Biology, and C+ Chemistry OR
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ with a C+ in Mathematics, C+ in Biological Sciences and C+ in Physical Sciences OR
- Diploma in Agricultural Extension Education or related disciplines from a recognized institution
- Admission Requirements:
- Mean Grade of C+ in KCSE with a C (plain) in Mathematics or Physics, B- in Biology and C+ in Chemistry OR B-in Biological sciences and C+ in Physical Sciences, OR
- Two principal passes at A-level and subsidiary pass OR
Holders of recognized Diploma in Horticulture or related disciplines are eligible for admission into the programme as follows:
- Higher National Diploma Holders will be admitted to 3rd year
- Ordinary Diploma with distinction or credit will be admitted to 2nd year
- Ordinary Diploma with pass will be admitted to1st year.
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ with a C (plain) in Mathematics or Physics, B- in Biology/Agriculture and C+ in Chemistry OR
- A mean grade of C+ in KCSE with a C (plain) in Mathematics or Physics, B- in Biological Sciences and C+ in Physical Sciences OR
- Two principal passes at A- level and subsidiary pass
- Diploma in Agriculture or related disciplines from a recognized institution
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ and at least C (Plain) in English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Economics/Commerce/Business Studies OR
- Two principal passes at A-level OR
- Diploma in Agriculture, or related disciplines from a recognized institution
- Admission Requirements:
- Diploma in nursing from a recognized institution.
- KCSE mean grade OF ‘C’ plain; OR Division two (II) in Kenya.
- Certificate of Education or its equivalent; OR one principal pass in Biology and tow subsidiaries.
- A minimum two (2) years of relevant working experience after attainment of the diploma. Registration and current practice license from Nursing Council of Kenya
- Admission Requirements:
- The applicant must have attained a minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education. (KSCE)
- In addition, they must obtain at least the minimum cut-off points for the respective academic years as determined from the specified subject clusters draw from the original Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education structure. The candidate must have passes in the subject clusters indicated below: Subject Clusters: An eligible applicant must have had a minimum of C+ (Plus) in English/Kiswahili, Biology/Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics/Physical Sciences.
- Applicants with advanced (‘A’) Level or Equivalent qualifications should have had a minimum of two principal passes in Biology and Chemistry and a subsidiary pass in Mathematics or Physics.
- Admission Requirements:
- A minimum Mean Grade of C+ in KCSE with
- A minimum pass of C+ in the following subjects in English/Kiswahili/Biology/Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Physics/Physical Sciences
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ and grade C (plain) in both Mathematics and English/Kiswahili or similar grades in an equivalent examination approved by the University Senate OR
- KACE or equivalent certificate with a minimum of two principal passes in A-level examination in Mathematics and English language.
- Diploma in relevant disciplines in the field of Information Technology from an institution recognized by the University Senate.
- Candidates with equivalent qualifications as approved by Senate may be considered.
- Admission Requirements:
- Mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE and at least B- in Mathematics and C+ in English/Kiswahili.
- Admission Requirements:
- Mean grade of C+ (plus) in KCSE with at least C+ in Mathematics, Physics or Physical Sciences, OR
- 2 Principal passes, one of which must be in Mathematics or Physics at A level, OR
- KNEC Diploma in Computer Studies or equivalent from recognized institution.
- Admission Requirements:
- A minimum Mean Grade of C+ and above in KCSE and C+ in any two science subjects relevant to the area of study, OR
- 2 principals and subsidiary pass at A level in science subject, OR
- KNEC Diploma in Science/Applied Sciences or its equivalent from recognized institutions
- Admission Requirements:
- A minimum Mean Grade of C+ in KCSE and a C+ in any tow science subjects relevant to the area of study, OR
- 2 Principals and subsidiary pass at A – level in Science subjects OR
- KNEC Diploma in Sciences/Applied Sciences or its equivalent from recognized Institutions.
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE mean grade of C+ and at least C (Plain) in English and Mathematics or Business Studies or Commerce OR
- Two (2) principal passes at A level OR
- Two year diploma in an economics related field.
- Admission Requirements:
- Minimum Mean Grade of C+ at KCSE and at least C in Mathematics and English/ Kiswahili OR
- Two Year Ordinary Diploma in Human Resource Management or Business related field with distinction or credit or Diploma in Human Resource Management from a recognized institution (May be admitted to 2nd year of study) OR
- Two (2) principal passes at A-level and a subsidiary.
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ (Plus) and at least C (Plain) in English/Kiswahili and Mathematics or Business Studies or Commerce OR
- Two Principal passes and one subsidiary pass at A-level plus at least a pass in Mathematics and English at O level OR
- Two year ordinary Diploma in Hotel Management from a recognized institution.
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ (Plus) and at least C (Plain) in English/Kiswahili and Mathematics or Business Studies or Commerce at KCSE OR
- Two Principal passes and one Subsidiary pass at A-level plus at least a pass in Mathematics and English at O level OR
- Two year Diploma holders in a business related discipline from a recognized institution
- Admission Requirements:
- Mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE and at least C in English/Kiswahili and Mathematics or Business Studies or Commerce OR
- Two Principal passes and one subsidiary pass at A-level plus at least a pass in Mathematics and English at O level OR
- Two year ordinary Diploma in Tourism Management from a recognized institution.
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ (Plus) OR
- “A” Level: 2 principals and a subsidiary OR
- Diploma in Counseling Psychology from a recognized institution.
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ (Plus) OR
- “A” Level: 2 principals and a subsidiary OR
- Diploma in ECD from a recognized institution.
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ (Plus) and must have at least a minimum of C+ in two teaching subjects and must have C (Plain) in Mathematics OR
- “A” Level: 2 principals and a subsidiary
- Diploma in Education from a recognized institution
- Admission Requirements:
- A minimum Mean Grade of C+ in KCSE with at least a C+ in Mathematics, English/Kiswahili, Chemistry, Biology (C+) OR
- “A” Level with 2 principal pass and 2 subsidiaries.
- Admission Requirements:
- A minimum mean grade of C+ in KCSE with B- in Biology/Biological Science, C+ in Chemistry, Mathematics and C in Physics or Geography.
- KNEC Diploma in related discipline.
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ (plus) with B- (minus) in Chemistry, C+ (plus) Biology, Mathematics and C (plain) in Physics or Geography, OR
- “A” level with 2 principal passes in chemistry and biology subsidiary in Mathematics with C (plain) in physics at “O” level, OR
- KNEC Diploma in Science/Applies Science or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ and above and minimum grade of B- (minus) in Mathematics OR
- KNEC Diploma in Applied Statistics or equivalent from recognized Institutions OR
- KNEC (HND) in Applied statistics or its equivalent from a recognized institutions.
- Admission Requirements:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+ (Plus) and must have at least a minimum of C+ in two teaching subjects OR
- “A” Level: 2 principals and a subsidiary OR Diploma in Education from a recognized institution.
UNIVERSITY OF KABIANGA, UoK POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Entry requirements for Postgraduate Diploma Courses
- Admission and conduct of postgraduate programs shall be conducted under the provisions of the general postgraduate regulations.
- The following shall be eligible for admission into a postgraduate diploma program in the University:
- Holders of a Bachelor’s degree from University of Kabianga and other universities recognized by the UoK Senate.
Entry requirements for Masters Courses
- Holders of a Bachelor’s degree (Second Class Honours [Upper Division] or higher) from the institution or other universities recognized by the University Senate,
- Holders of a Bachelor’s degree (Second Class Honours [Lower Division]) from UoK who have at least two years of relevant experience,
- Holders of a postgraduate diploma (credit level or higher) from UoK or other institutions recognized by the University Senate.
Entry requirements for Doctorate Courses
- Masters Degree from a recognized Institution of higher learning in relation with the course of interest.
