FUNAAB Admission Requirements: 2024/2025

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, FUNAAB Admission Requirements: 2024/2025 for all the courses at the undergraduate, diploma and postgraduate level is updated every year. Therefore, this article contains the full list of all the undergraduate and Postgraduate courses coupled with their general requirements. For admission into programmes of study at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, FUNAAB for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for successful admission.

FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE, ABEOKUTA, FUNAAB UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

General Admission Requirements

Gaining admission into an Undergraduate Programme in FUNAAB is basically under 2 entry method which includes the UTME entry and the Direct Entry.

UNILAG admission requirements through UTME 

To gain admission into the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in 2024, UTME candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Candidates must have reached the age of 16.
• Candidates must have at least 6 (six) “Cs (Credits)” grades in their O’level result (s). This must include English Language, Mathematics and three other subjects related to their course of study. For instance, a Candidate that wants to study law must have a “C” in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics and Literature in English.
• Candidates must score at least 120 in JAMB UTME examination
• Candidates must take FUNAAB post UTME screening examination and must perform very well in the examination (Depending on the course of study)
• Not more than ONE sitting results is accepted for admission into the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB)
• Candidates must choose the correct subject combination for their courses.
• Finally, candidates must meet the stipulated cutoff marks for their courses to gain admission into the university.

UNILAG admission requirements through Direct Entry 

Candidates who wish to gain admission through direct entry into the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) must meet the following requirements:

• Candidates must possess at least five (5) Credits in their O’level result. This must include English Language and Mathematics. However, two sitting result is not allowed.
• Candidates must have also reached the age of 16.
• Candidates are expected to get JAMB Directly entry form from JAMB to apply.
• Candidates should have any of the following certificates: OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, ICAN

In addition to the minimum UTME requirement specified at O’Level, candidates seeking admission by Direct Entry are expected to possess a minimum of UPPER CREDIT at ND or HND and CREDIT at NCE for admissions into related areas from a recognized institution. At least two A-Level/IJMB/JUPEB passes in the following: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology/Zoology/Botany are acceptable for admission into 200 Level. FUNAAB DOES NOT ACCEPT LOWER CREDIT FOR DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSION.

FUNAAB COURSE-SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Agricultural Administration

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and one of Zoology/Botany/Agricultural Science/Biology, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Geology, Economics and Health Science.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and one of Geography, Physics and Economics.
• UTME Subjects: Chemistry, Biology/ Agricultural Science and Mathematics or Physics

Agricultural Administration and Farm Management

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and one of Zoology/Botany/Agricultu ral Science/Biology, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Geology, Economics and Health Science.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and one of Geography, Physics and Economics.
• UTME Subjects: Chemistry, Biology/ Agricultural Science and Mathematics or Physics.

Agricultural Engineering

• Direct Entry Requirements:
  • ‘A’ Level passes or equivalent in Physics and Mathematics.
• UTME Requirements:
  • Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any from Introduction to Agricultural Science, Materials and Workshop Process and Machining, Tractor Layout Power Unit Under Carriage and Auto Electricity; Transmission System; Implement and Machine; Principles of Crop Husbandry and Land Use, Materials and Workshop Processes; Construction and Maintenance of Agricultural Machines; general Metal Work; General Wood Work and Building/Engineering Drawing.
• UTME Subjects:
  • Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics

Agricultural Extension and Rural Development Direct Entry Requirements:

• Two (2) ‘A’ level passes or equivalents in Chemistry and Biology, Agricultural Science, Botany, Zoology, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Geography or Geology.

UTME Requirements:

• Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and one of Geography, Physics and Economics.

Animal Breeding And Genetics

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ level passes or its equivalent in Chemistry and one of Biology, Botany, Zoology, Agriculture Science, Geography, Geology, Mathematics or Economics.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agric Science and one of Physics, Geography or Economics.
• UTME Subjects: Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and Mathematics /Physics.

Animal Nutrition

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ level passes or equivalent in Chemistry and Biology or Agricultural Science.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes in Agricultural Science/Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and any two (2) other subjects and at least ‘O’ level pass in English Language and Physics.
• UTME Subjects: Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Physics.

Animal Physiology

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ level passes or its equivalent in Chemistry and one of Biology, Botany, Zoology, Agriculture Science, Geography, Geology, Mathematics or Economics.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agric Science and one of Physics, Geography or Economics.
• UTME Subjects: Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and Mathematics /Physics.

Animal Production And Health Services

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two ‘A’ Level passes or equivalent in Chemistry and one of Biology/Botany /Zoology/Agricultural Science/ Geography/Geology/ Mathematics/Economics.
• UTME Requirements: Five SSC credit passes in Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics and English Language.
• UTME Subjects: Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Physics/Mathematics.

Aquaculture And Fisheries Management

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Botany/Agric Science/Zoology/Physics.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and Physics/Geography/Economics.
• UTME Subjects: Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Mathematics/ Physics.

Biochemistry Admission Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates:

• Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Biology/ Zoology/Botany and Mathematics.

UTME Requirements:

• Candidates seeking admission into this course are required to have at least, five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
• Jamb Subjects Combination:

Biological Sciences

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes to include one (1) of Botany, Zoology, Biology or Chemistry. (ii) ND/NCE in related programme/subject.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and any other Science subject.
• UTME Subjects: Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.

Business Enterprise Management Direct Entry Requirements:

• Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes including Economics.

UTME Requirements:

• Candidates seeking admission into the University of Lagos to study Business administration are required to have up to five (5) SSC credit passes in these subjects which must include; English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects.
• UTME Subjects:
  • Mathematics,
  • Economics,
  • and any other Social Science subject.

Chemistry Direct Entry Requirements:

• Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology.
• ND/NCE with good grades in relevant ‘O’ Level subjects.

UTME Requirements:

• All candidates seeking admission into Unilag to study Chemistry are required to have at least, five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
• UTME Subjects:
  • Chemistry and two (2) of Physics, Biology, and Mathematics

Civil Engineering.

• Direct Entry Requirements:
  • ‘A’ Level passes in Physics and Mathematics.
  • ND/HND upper credit at appropriate levels.
• UTME Requirements:
  • Candidates must have at least, five (5) credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and one Science subject in their O’level result.
• UTME Subjects:
  • Physics,
  • Chemistry,
  • Mathematics

Computer Science.

• Direct Entry Requirements:
  • Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics.
  • NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) other Science or Social Science subject.
• UTME Requirements:
  • Five (5) SSC credit passes in: English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two (2) other Science subjects.

  • You can choose to complete your subject combination with any of these subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics, and Geography.

Crop Production

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science/Botany/Zoology or Physics/Mathematics/Economics.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and one Science/Social Science subject and at least ‘O’ Level pass in Physics.
• UTME Subjects: Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and Mathematics or Physics.

Crop Protection

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science/Botany/Zoology or Physics/Mathematics/Economics.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and one Science/Social Science subject and at least ‘O’ Level pass in Physics.
• UTME Subjects: Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and Mathematics or Physics.

Economics Direct Entry Requirements:

• ND/NCE with upper/merit credit in the relevant programme in addition to five (5) credit passes at SSC at not more than two (2) sittings.

UTME Requirements:

• Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and at least two (2) other relevant subjects from Commerce, Government and Accounting

UTME Subjects:

• Economics, Mathematics and any of Government, History, Geography, Literature in English, French and CRS/IRS.

Electrical / Electronics Engineering.

• Direct Entry Requirements:
  • Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.
• UTME Requirements:
  • Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and any other Science subject.
• UTME Subjects:

Environmental Management And Toxicology

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) from Biology, Zoology or Botany.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
• UTME Subjects: Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics.

Food Science And Technology

• Direct Entry Requirements: ‘A’ Level passes in two (2) of Physics Chemistry, and Mathematics. (ii) ND/HND upper credit in relevant programmes.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and any other Science subject.
• UTME Subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics or Biology.

Forestry And Wildlife Management Direct Entry Requirements:

• Two (2) ’A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology or Agric Science or Zoology or Botany.

UTME Requirements:

• Five (5) SSC credit passes in English, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and one of Physics, Economics, Further Mathematics and Statistics.

UTME Subjects:

• Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and Physics or Mathematics.

Home Science And Management

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes or equivalents in Chemistry and Biology/Botany Agricultural Science/ Economics/Physics/ Mathematics/Geography/ Accounting.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes including Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and at least ‘O’ Level pass in English Language and Physics. General Metal Work, General Wood Work, Building/Engineering Drawing, Furniture Design and Construction, Upholstery Design and Construction, Spray Painting and Period Furniture, Spinning, Weaving, Surface Design and Printing, Bleaching, Dyeing and Finishing and Basic Electricity.
• UTME Subjects: Chemistry, Biology or Agriculture and Mathematics or Physics.

Horticulture

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Biology, Agricultural Science, Botany and Zoology.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology or Agric Science.

Hospitality And Tourism Management

• Direct Entry Requirements: ND/HND in relevant programmes; Degree/HND not relevant to the programme.
• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and Economics.
• UTME Subjects: Mathematics, Economics and any other subject.

Mathematics

• Direct Entry Requirements:
  • Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and any other science subject.
  • NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) of Physics, Chemistry or Economics.
• UTME Requirements:
  • UTME Candidates who want to study Mathematics at the University of Lagos should note that they are required to have at lease, five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry.

• UTME Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any other Science subject.

Statistics Direct Entry Requirements:

• Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.

Veterinary Medicine

• Direct Entry Requirements: A’ level passes in Chemistry, Biology/Zoology, Physics or Mathematics.

Water Resources And Agrometeorology

• Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A‘ level passes in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.
