Lira University 2020 Resumption Dates – Opening Dates

The Lira University wishes to inform the following remaining groups of students that the commencement dates of the 2019/20/21 Academic Years are as follows:

LIRA UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT DATES FOR 2019/2020 ACADEMIC SESSION

• To: All Final Year students in the Faculty of Health Sciences
• Re: Resumption of Semester II Studies

With reference to the Guidelines issued by the National Council for Higher Education to enable final year students enrolled in the Medical and Health related programmes to resume studies, the Management of Lira University decided that you report to the University on 28th September 2020 to complete your Semester II studies.

Please note the following as you prepare to report.

1. Students without the University identity cards shall be denied entry into the University premises.
2. Students from the Border Districts should arrange with their District Task Force to be screened. You will be required to present clearance from the District Task Force before being allowed entry into the University.
3. Students with fees balance for semester II are expected to clear within two weeks from the date of reporting; otherwise they shall not be allowed to sit the end of semester examinations.
4. Students who have papers to retake are required to register and pay for the retakes but read on their own for the papers as the retakes will be done during the special examinations session.
5. While at the University and in their hostels, students will be required to abide by the Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and observe Social Distancing as directed by the Ministry of Health and His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda.
6. Each student will be required to come with; 2 pairs of lab coats, four litres of alcohol based sanitizer, four sets of double layered cloth face masks.
7. Students are required to read and familiarize themselves with the Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education and Sports, the National Council for Higher Education.

The dates included above are pending confirmation by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
