CUT transport allowance form 2026: Apply now
This article contains information on the CUT transport allowance form and how to apply for 2026.
The Central University of Technology (CUT) has announced that the transport allowance application form for the 2026 academic year is available on the official CUT NSFAS webpage. Students are encouraged to apply if they qualify and need financial assistance to cover their transportation costs.
Eligibility for the CUT transport allowance form
CUT students who have registered for the 2026 academic year are eligible to apply for the transport allowance. The allowance is available to students who meet all of the following criteria:
- Must be a student funded by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
- Must live at home and not be receiving an accommodation allowance from NSFAS. Students cannot simultaneously receive both an accommodation and a transport allowance. If you are receiving an accommodation allowance, you do not qualify for the transport allowance.
- Must have a permanent residential address located within the official city perimeters of Bloemfontein or Welkom. Students whose registered address falls outside these municipal boundaries do not qualify.
Important note: If a student who is eligible for an accommodation allowance fails to submit the required lease agreement documentation to the university, the system will automatically re-evaluate them for a transport allowance instead. Students should confirm their allowance status with the Fees and Financial Aid (FFA) office before applying.
How to Apply for CUT transport allowance
- Obtain the official “Transport Allowance Form” and the “Transport Allowance Form (Submission & Payment Instructions)” PDF documents from the official CUT NSFAS webpage or the Fees, Bursaries & Loans Portal on the CUT website. The Transport Allowance Form was last updated on 17 February 2026.
- Print and complete the form. The form requires your full name, student number, and personal details. You do not need to declare household income on this form — that information is managed through your NSFAS application.
- Compile your submission package: the completed Transport Allowance Form and a certified copy of your Identity (ID) document. An uncertified photocopy will not be accepted.
- Submit your completed application package in person to the Fees and Financial Aid (FFA) office at your respective campus — Bloemfontein or Welkom. Do not submit via email or general admin channels unless specifically instructed by the FFA office.
- Bloemfontein Campus: +27 (0) 51 507 3911
- Welkom Campus: +27 (0) 57 910 3500
- Ask the FFA clerk for a receipt or acknowledgment slip as proof that your application has been received.
- After the 20 March 2026 deadline, the FFA office will verify your application against NSFAS data and university records. Monitor your official CUT email account and the Student Portal messaging system for any communications regarding your application outcome.
- If your application is approved, the transport allowance will be paid directly into your personal bank account via the FUNDI payment platform. Ensure that your banking details on file are accurate and up to date. Payment is expected during the weeks following April 2026.
- If your application is unsuccessful, you may lodge an appeal through the NSFAS appeals process, which opens immediately after application outcomes are communicated.
Students who have any questions or concerns about the transport allowance or the application process should contact the CUT Fees and Financial Aid office at their respective campus for assistance.
