NSFAS Appeal Form 2025: How to Submit

This article contains a guide and instruction on how to submit an NSFAS Appeal form for 2025.

The NSFAS Appeal is a lodgement of queries or application sent to the NSFAS by a student who either missed out on the NSFAS funding benefits or whose initial funding application was unsuccessful. Therefore, the NSFAS have open a platform and procedure on how you can submit your appeal. Kindly follow the instructions as stated below.

REQUIREMENTS FOR LODGING AN NSFAS APPEAL FOR 2025

1. Only students assessed as unsuccessful will be able to lodge an appeal on their portal.
2. The students must lodge an appeal with 30 days of having been assessed as unsuccessful.
3. To support the appeal, students may be required to upload the following documents which includes medical, death of immediate family member, academic transcript, pay slips, etc.
4. Documents must be proof of your circumstances. Appeals that are supported by an affidavit will be rejected.
5. Applications without supporting documents will not be considered.
6. Any outstanding documentation related to the appeal must be submitted by the student/application within 14 days after which the appeal application will be closed automatically by NSFAS.

HOW TO SUBMIT AN NSFAS APPEAL FOR 2025

Here’s how to go about the appeal:

1. Log into your myNSFAS account,
2. Click the Track Funding Progress option.
3. Check the application progress tabs.
4. If your application status reflects that it is unsuccessful, then you may submit an appeal by clicking on the Submit Appeal tab.
5. Once you are on the Application Appeal page, you’ll be able to see the reason for your unsuccessful application status.
6. Write a motivational letter stating the reasons why you are appealing your application status. Your motivational letter must not exceed 1 000 characters (words, including spaces).
7. Upload certified supporting documents to support your motivation. A maximum of five documents.
8. Click Submit Appeal.
