Below is the full details of all the diploma/certificate courses offered at the Scott College of Nursing, SCN:

• Diploma in General Nursing
• Certificate in Nursing Assistant
• Diploma in Midwifery

SCOTT COLLEGE OF NURSING ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. Diploma in General Nursing

The minimum requirements into the program include:
COSC/LGCSE with a minimum of six (6) passed subjects. These should include four credits as follows:

• A credit in physics and chemistry with a pass in Biology
  Or
• A credit in Biology with a pass in Physics and chemistry
• A credit in additional combined Science Or
• Combined science
• At least a pass of 7 in English language
• At least a pass of 7 in mathematics
  Or
• Any three (3) other credits in COSC/LCGSE subjects

Prior learning for Nursing Assistants shall be recognized based on the following criteria:

• A minimum pass with merit in Nursing Assistant Programme
• Two years of working experience
• A minimum of a pass of seven (7) in any two (2) relevant subjects in COSC/ LGCSE

2. Certificate in Nursing Assistant

The minimum requirements into the program include:

COSC/LCGSCE or its equivalent with a minimum of 5 passed subjects

• A pass of 8 in one of the science subjects
• At least a pass of 8 in English language
• At least a pass of 8 in mathematics
• Three other passes in any other COSC subjects

3. Diploma in Midwifery

The minimum requirements into the program include a Diploma in General Nursing and registration with Lesotho Nursing Council

HOW TO APPLY FOR ADMISSION INTO SCN

The academic year starts in August and ends in May every year. Application forms are available at the College of Nursing and its website used solely for application soon after the COSC/LGSCE results are published. All applicants must return the application forms on or before the set date for processing.
