This year’s ranking sees University of Cape Town climb University of Pretoria to take the 1st and regarded as the best university in South Africa while the later go down to the 2nd spot. Universiteit Stellenbosch had a significant boost from 6th position to 4th Position. Universities like University of the Witwatersrand and University of the Western Cape maintained the same spot (3rd and 8th position respectively) while University of KwaZulu-Natal had a significant decrease in ranking this year.
