SMME Training Opportunity at Capricorn TVET College: Apply Now

Capricorn TVET College is inviting qualified former students to apply for a Small Medium and Micro Enterprise (SMME) training opportunity funded by the Transport Education Training Authority (TETA). The opportunity aims to train 50 young graduates who have an interest in starting or growing their business ventures, with the goal of contributing significantly to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) through SMMEs.

The six-month training program will take place in Polokwane, and offer a monthly stipend of R3,000 paid by TETA. The duration of the training course is six months, and applicants will be expected to commit to attending all classes and taking part in all training activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for young graduates with an entrepreneurial spirit who are looking to start or grow their own businesses. By offering the necessary training and support, Capricorn TVET College and TETA aim to contribute to the development of SMMEs and, in turn, to the growth of the South African economy.

To be eligible for the training, applicants should be Capricorn TVET College graduates, and preference will be given to those who have already registered businesses. Female students are also encouraged to apply. Kindly check below for eligibility and the application procedure:

SMME Training Opportunity Eligibility:

SMME Training Opportunity Application Process:

  • Interested candidates should send a motivational letter detailing their business idea and explaining why they should be considered for the program
  • The letter should be no more than two typed pages and should be accompanied by a certified copy of the applicant’s N6 certificate or Level 4 certificate, a certified copy of their ID (less than six months old), and if applicable, a CIPC listing them as directors
  • Applications should be hand-delivered to Capricorn TVET College, 16 Market Street Polokwane (Central Office) on or before March 3, 2023
  • Emailed or faxed applications will not be considered.
