UCT Graduate School of Business, UCT GBS Online Application | UCT GSB Entry Requirements

UCT GSB Student Portal Login 2026: gsb.uct.ac.za

We are pleased to present to you UCT GSB.ac.za as the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, UCT GSB student portal. It also contains the official website, benefits of using the student portal; steps on how to log in and how to reset/recover your student portal forgotten password.

All new and returning students need access to UCT’s digital systems from day one — to register for courses, submit assignments, check results, pay fees, and communicate with faculty and administration. The GSB does not have a single standalone student portal. Instead, it uses a set of integrated UCT platforms, each serving a specific function. This guide walks you through each one.

UCT Graduate School of Business Student Portal 2026

The University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, UCT GSB Student portal is very important because it’s not just at the beginning of a school year that the school supports students but all year round. As a UCT GSB student, you need access to financial services, learning management systems to submit assignments and access your grade. You also need to work with other students on projects as well as update their student profile.

WHO CAN USE THE UCT GSB STUDENT PORTAL?

  • Prospective students (for application tracking — see the GSB Pre-application Portal)
  • Newly admitted students (starting with account activation)
  • Continuing and returning students
  • Executive education participants (via a separate platform — see below)

HOW TO ACCESS/LOGIN TO THE UCT GSB STUDENT PORTAL

There is no single login page at gsb.uct.ac.za that serves as a student portal. The GSB website (www.gsb.uct.ac.za) is the public-facing information site, not a student login portal. The correct portals are listed below, each serving a distinct function.

Step 1 — Activate your account first (new students only):

  1. Open your internet browser and go to https://password.uct.ac.za
  2. Enter your UCT username and the temporary password provided in your official offer letter.
  3. Create a new permanent password. It must be at least 16 characters long and include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character (e.g. !, @, #, $).
  4. Once set, this password works across all UCT platforms listed below. Do not use the temporary password anywhere else.

You can confirm your account is active by connecting to the university’s eduroam Wi-Fi network using your student number and new password. If it connects, your account is live.

Step 2 — Access the relevant portal for your task:

  • Academic records, course registration, transcripts, fee statements:
    Go to https://studentsonline.uct.ac.za
Log in with your student number (in upper case) and your UCT network password.
  • Course materials, assignment submission, lecture content (Vula LMS):
    Go to https://vula.uct.ac.za
Log in with your student number and UCT network password.
Courses only appear here after you have registered for them in Student Self-Service.
  • University email (myUCT / Outlook):
    Go to https://outlook.office.com
Log in with your full email address (studentnumber@myuct.ac.za) and your UCT network password.
Your mailbox comes with 50GB of storage. All official university communications go to this inbox — check it regularly.
After graduation, your address transitions to firstname.surname@alumni.uct.ac.za.
  • Microsoft Office 365 and OneDrive cloud storage:
    Go to https://portal.office.com
Enter your full myUCT email address, then your UCT network password.
Gives you free access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive for the duration of your studies.
  • Online short courses (GetSmarter / UCT GSB Online):
    Go to https://www.uctgsbonline.com
Use the course-specific username and password sent to you in your course activation email — these are separate from your UCT network credentials.
