An MBA is regarded by many as the ticket to the C-suite. After all you’d be hard-pressed to find a CEO who doesn’t have one. More than anything, an MBA is structured to turn a manager into a holistic leader capable of steering an organisation and its people to success. The MBA gives you access to continue your studies towards a DBL, providing you meet the admission requirements of the DBL.
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH AFRICA, UNISA MBA ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- An undergraduate degree is required. If your qualification is not a standard undergraduate degree, contact the Graduate School of Business Leadership (SBL) directly at SBLMBA@unisa.ac.za to have your qualification assessed for eligibility before applying. International applicants must have their qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
- A minimum of three years of managerial or professional work experience is mandatory. This must be documented through a detailed CV and may be supported by a letter from your employer on official letterhead indicating your period of service, or a certificate of service. Applicants operating their own business should submit a statement from their auditor, accountant, attorney, or partner.
- A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) highlighting your management responsibilities, leadership roles, and professional achievements over the requisite period. This is the primary tool used to assess your professional background.
- A certified copy of your Identity Document or valid Passport. A copy of a driver’s licence will NOT be accepted.
- Copies of all degree certificates and complete academic transcripts showing the modules passed and grades achieved.
- A marriage certificate — only required if your surname has changed and differs from the name on your primary ID or passport.
- A sponsorship letter — only required if your studies are being funded by an employer or any other third party.
Please note: The selection process is based on a holistic review of your submitted application portfolio. No GMAT, GRE, or compulsory interviews are required. The Graduate School of Business Leadership may institute additional selection criteria as deemed necessary.
