Application for the Walter Sisulu University (WSU) Mentor Program for the 2024 academic year is now open for all outstanding WSU Students who wish to be mentored and mentor through school.
Why is there a Mentor Programme at the WSU? The answer is simple. The Mentor programme is designed to help you, as a student, transition to higher education by providing social and emotional support.
How?
The purpose of this position is far senior students ta assist junior students in navigating Residence Life. Social Challenges, promote discipline and facilitate cultural and Sporting Activities.
Who is Eligible for the WSU Student Mentorship Programme?
PREFERED CANDIDATE:
- Continuing Students – 2nd, 3rd & (4th level – with accommodation)
- 60% academic average & above
- Responsible and friendly
- Be registered student of Buffalo City Campus (2022 Academic year)
DUTIES:
- Advise and guide first year students on welfare and academic matters
- Provide emotional support and referrals
- Help in setting goals and developing contact
- Facilitate peer support groups
- Motivate students’ positive social varsity life
- Facilitate out of class social clubs
