The Kwame Nkrumah University, KNU 2023/2024 admission requirement for all the courses at the undergraduate, diploma and postgraduate level is updated every year. Therefore, this article contains the full list of all the undergraduate and postgraduate courses coupled with their general requirements.
For admission into programmes of study at the Kwame Nkrumah University, KNU for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for a successful admission.
KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY, KNU UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
- Full Grade 12 or Form Five (5) Certificate with a minimum of 5 ‘O’ Level Credits in English and any other four (4) subjects.
- For Natural Sciences and Business Studies, the 5 “O” Levels must include Mathematics.
- Or a Diploma in the relevant field from a recognized institution.
COURSE SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants wishing to study Mathematics, Natural Sciences or Business Studies should have passed Mathematics with Credit or better.
- Applicants wishing to study Mathematics with a Humanities course can only choose from the following: History, Geography, French, Special Needs Education or Physical Education and Sport.
- Biology currently combines with Chemistry only.
- Special Needs Education will not combine with Linguistics and African Languages, Physical Education and Sport, French, Business Studies and Natural Sciences (except for Mathematics as indicated in (ii) above).
- Linguistics and African Languages will not combine with Physical Education and Sport, Religious Studies Education and French.
- Religious Studies Education will not combine with Physical Education and Sport.
- English will not combine with Physical Education and Sport.
- There is no minor for Business Studies. Candidates wishing to study Business Studies must tick this course under major only
KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY, KNU POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Entry Requirements to Post-Graduate Programmes
- Full Grade 12 School certificate or equivalent.
- A first degree from a recognized institution
- Special entrance requirements prescribed by relevant school or Directorate.
Entry requirements for Doctor of Philosophy
- A master’s degree in a business-related Programme from a recognized institution;
- Certified Transcripts of results;
- Two personal references from academic referees confirming candidates’ suitability for the programme; and
- Research topic and statement of the problem
- Candidates with limited research experience or skills will have to undertake a course in Research Methodology.
