PAN AFRICAN UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS
Eligibility and Requirements
The PAU scholarship is highly competitive and targets specific demographics to ensure the growth of African leadership.
Who Can Apply?
- Citizens:Â African nationals and members of the African Diaspora.
- Profiles:Â Aspiring academics, innovators, professionals, and entrepreneurs.
1. Admission Requirements for Masters Programmes
- Age Limit: Male applicants must be 25 years or younger. Female applicants must be 28 years or younger.
- Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree with at least a Second Class Upper division (or its equivalent).
- Required Documents:
- Certified copies of certificates and transcripts.
- Passport or National ID card.
- A clear, Passport-size photograph.
- Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- One (1) Recommendation Letter.
- Contact details of 3 Academic Referees (Must include Email and WhatsApp numbers).
2. Admission Requirements for PhD Programmes
- Age Limit: Male applicants must be 28 years or younger. Female applicants must be 30 years or younger.
- Academic Qualification: A relevant degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s path) with a Second Class Upper division or equivalent.
- Required Documents:
- Certified copies of certificates and transcripts.
- Passport or National ID card.
- Passport-size photograph.
- Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- One (1) Recommendation Letter.
- Contact details of 3 Academic Referees.
- Concept Note:Â A summary of your proposed research area.
- Note:Â Candidates may be required to sit for a written or oral examination.
Special Requirements for Language Programmes:
Applicants interested in Conference Interpreting or Translation must demonstrate fluency in at least two of the AU official languages:
- Arabic
- English
- French
- Portuguese
- Spanish
Field of Study
The scholarship covers postgraduate programmes across the four distinct institutes of the Pan African University. These institutes specialize in Science, Technology, Innovation, Governance, and Humanities.
Stipend Amount and Benefits
This is a Fully Funded Scholarship. While the specific monetary breakdown is detailed in the award letter, successful candidates under the African Union initiative typically receive:
