Eligibility and Requirements

The PAU scholarship is highly competitive and targets specific demographics to ensure the growth of African leadership.

Who Can Apply?

• Citizens: African nationals and members of the African Diaspora.
• Profiles: Aspiring academics, innovators, professionals, and entrepreneurs.

1. Admission Requirements for Masters Programmes

• Age Limit: Male applicants must be 25 years or younger. Female applicants must be 28 years or younger.
• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree with at least a Second Class Upper division (or its equivalent).
• Required Documents:
  • Certified copies of certificates and transcripts.
  • Passport or National ID card.
  • A clear, Passport-size photograph.
  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • One (1) Recommendation Letter.
  • Contact details of 3 Academic Referees (Must include Email and WhatsApp numbers).

2. Admission Requirements for PhD Programmes

• Age Limit: Male applicants must be 28 years or younger. Female applicants must be 30 years or younger.
• Academic Qualification: A relevant degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s path) with a Second Class Upper division or equivalent.
• Required Documents:
  • Certified copies of certificates and transcripts.
  • Passport or National ID card.
  • Passport-size photograph.
  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • One (1) Recommendation Letter.
  • Contact details of 3 Academic Referees.
  • Concept Note: A summary of your proposed research area.
  • Note: Candidates may be required to sit for a written or oral examination.

Special Requirements for Language Programmes:
Applicants interested in Conference Interpreting or Translation must demonstrate fluency in at least two of the AU official languages:

• Arabic
• English
• French
• Portuguese
• Spanish
