Applications are invited for Master of Mineral Science in Sustainable Mineral Resources Development Degree programme for the 2024/2025 academic year from the (University of Zambia, University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University). This programme is offered through the Department of Metallurgical Engineering in the School of Mines at UNZA. Economists,   geologists,   engineers,   lawyers,   social   scientists,   accountants   and   financial professionals who have an interest in advancing their careers in the field of mining and mineral beneficiation in a sustainable environment this is for you.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified SCHOOL LEAVERS, NON-SCHOOL LEAVERS, and SPECIAL CASES.

UNZA MSC. MINERAL SCIENCE APPLICATION PROCEDURE & ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 

Entry Requirements: 

  • Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree credit or better in any field associated with mining and the environment, from a recognized university;
  • A minimum of two years professional experience if you have a pass; and

Application Procedure

Application forms, with two academic references and one professional reference form can be obtained from the University of Zambia Website www.unza.zm or Directorate of Research and Graduate Studies. A non- refundable application fee of K150.00 for Zambians and US$60.00 for non-Zambians should be attached to the completed application form. Postal and Money Orders are no longer accepted.

  • A limited number of partial scholarships are available for admitted candidates for the two-year duration of the study programme. The rate of the partial scholarships on offer are 75% for female and 50% for male candidates. To apply for the partial scholarship, submit a 1-page motivation letter on why you should receive the scholarship.

Application Deadline

  • Online applications should be submitted not later than (Application date and deadline is yet to be fixed)
