The Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, ZICA Admission Requirements: 2024/2025 for all the courses at the undergraduate, diploma and postgraduate level is updated every year. Therefore, this article contains the full list of all the certificate, Diploma programmes, and Professional Programmes coupled with their general requirements.
For admission into programs of study at Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, ZICA for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for successful admission.

CA Zambia Entry Requirements

| Knowledge | i) Direct entry route for School leavers should possess a Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent with five (5) O level credits or better including Mathematics and English.ii) Non-school leavers who hold the Diploma in Accountancy or other recognised relevant qualifications and possess five (5) O level credits or better including Mathematics and English. These enter at the Application level of CA Zambia.
iii) Non-school leavers who hold a recognised Degree in Accountancy or other recognised professional accounting qualifications and possess five (5) O level credits or better including Mathematics and English. These enter at the Advisory level of CA Zambia. |
| Application | ZiCA Diploma in Accountancy or any other recognised relevant qualification approved by the Institute, with 5 O Level credits or better including Mathematics and English. |
| Advisory | Recognised Degree in Accountancy or holders of other recognised professional accounting qualifications, with 5 O Level credits or better including Mathematics and English. |
Taxation Programme Entry Requirements
- Grade 12 School Certificate or it’s equivalent with five (5) O level subjects, including English and Mathematics, of which two (2) of these subjects should be at Credit or better; or
- Grade 12 School Certificate or it’s equivalent with six (6) O level subjects, including English and Mathematics, of which one (1) of these subjects should be at Credit or better.
- The minimum entry requirement to the Diploma in Public Sector Financial Management is the ZICA Accountancy Technician Qualification or Equivalent.
Diploma In Accountancy Programme Entry Requirements
- Grade 12 School Certificate or it’s equivalent with five (5) O level subjects, including English and Mathematics, of which two (2) of these subjects should be at Credit or better; or
- Grade 12 School Certificate or it’s equivalent with six (6) O level subjects, including English and Mathematics, of which one (1) of these subjects should be at Credit or better.
