Kwame Nkrumah University, KNUST Funding for Staff PhD Students In Ghana - 2022/2023

The Building Stronger Universities Project invites staff enrolled in PhD programmes in the University to apply for funding support to facilitate the successful completion of their doctoral education process.

Our goal is to raise transformational leaders to influence change in Ghana by providing opportunities for the acquisition of relevant STEM related degrees which emphasise practical application and entrepreneurship. This will ensure that beneficiary students graduate with skills that makes them effective contributors to industry.

KNUST FUNDING ELIGIBILITY

Scholars are selected on the following criteria:

  • Must be a staff of KNUST
  • Must be enrolled on a PhD Programme in the University
  • Not a scholarship holder or not receiving full funding support from another agency
  • Must be in 3rd/ 4th year or near completion of their PhD education
  • Must be self-motivated and zealous to complete their studies and graduate latest by July 2021
  • Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

KNUST FUNDING APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Qualified PhD candidates must complete the attached (application form) and submit a maximum of two (2) page proposal indicating the research topic and objectives, progress of work so far (approved by supervisor) and a work plan towards completion.
  • All documents related to the application must be assembled into a single PhD document and be sent via an e-mail attachment to bsu3.knust@gmail.com.
  • Title of the email should read “BSU3 Staff PhD Application”.
  • The application must also include a budget estimate of the funding support needed for the completion of the PhD studies. Up to a total of Fifteen Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 15,000) will be awarded to a successful applicant.
  • Applicants must note that the funding support does not include the payment of monthly stipend or allowances.
  • Eligible cost items such as research materials, books, journal publication, fieldwork, data analysis, dissemination and other related expenses may be considered.
